Optic Gaming Reportedly Accepted into NALCS

Saw this information come and it makes me curious. So we have OpTic accepted, The Warriors’ owner team accepted, but no news on any existing teams being accepted?

We’ve heard about NV, P1, and DIG being rejected, so nothing seems like a sure thing, but I can’t imagine RIOT ditching big time fan base teams like TSM, C9, and CLG. I feel like that would eliminate half the viewership, thus the profit, in general.

Still, it would appear that RIOT is more interested in accepting applications from outsiders first. I’m not too familiar with the selection process, but I feel like if the Warriors owner knows and OpTic Gaming knows, then existing teams should definitely know as well.

Guess I’m just getting worried and impatient with this. I don’t think I’ll sit down and watch a league in which the C9/TSM rivalry doesn’t exist....

If C9 goes, so do I

I don't think Riot going to release TSM/C9/CLG. The whole point of them going to best of 1 is because viewership, so why would they replace the 3 most popular teams and the only teams to win the region?

I think the only thing we can be sure of is that TSM/C9/CLG/TL will be in it. (for whatever reason Riot just absolutely loves liquid). Everything else I feel like they are going to try to get these teams with big investment from traditional sports teams. Optic is majority owned by the Texas Rangers owner I believe. Warriors are in. Immortals will probably end up getting in.

TSM, C9, CLG, and Liquid are all reportedly in. Fox is reportedly in. plus the two new teams Looks like P1, ENVY, Dig, are all out. and it Looks like IMT is rejected. They were the first ones to get their ducks in a row and really were out front as Riot's Rah Rah gung ho franchising proponents. Guess that's their reward.

I was hoping for some genuine new blood that was genuinely trying to build a team and compete. Why you keep liquid and fox and reject imt, other than Riot wanted some keystone cops comedy, is well beyond me.

IMT is apparently out, but those are rumors I heard from Travis's youtube

C9, TSM, Echo Fox, TL, and Optic are 5 of the 10 teams confirmed as of right now. I’m not sure about CLG. P1, Envy, Dig, and IMT are our for sure.

I don't get why the teams aren't accepted? Don't they have to win the challenger series to get promoted into LCS? Or are these new teams buying the other teams spots?
