I want Fnatic to win, but lets face it, they got lucky.
Now ban Morde, and keep him banned tho Azir did an amazing job clearing, along with Braum especailly, but a Morde, Fiora, and KASS? Oh my god.
So yeah, ban morde.

Yormaughm1 votesYeah if anything the remake was a boon to EDG, and then they banned Morde on blue side cause they realized Fnatic had a plan for if you first pick Morde. I was expecting this to happen once best of 5's started honestly, for teams to leave him open as bait and then just counterpick him. Teams don't pick him because he has no counters and is a versatile pick, they pick him because he's the easiest champion in the game to snowball with, even despite his setbacks. His exp advantage and dragon ghost are literally so OP that an otherwise worthless champion is suddenly worth picking. Fact remains though, you can't safely first pick Mordekaiser in a structured team environment because as powerful as he is, there are tons of champs who shut him down, Fnatic picked a comp full of champs that do just that.
Morde is only 90% banned because teams just don't want to deal with him, not because he's insta-win. Thing is now that we've seen this, he'll probably stay banned for the rest of the tournament.

Leaving Morde open for blue is not a smart thing because the pick is just so powerful, even if you "counterpick" as much as possible. However, if you leave both GP and morde up, you will automatically get the other (or even both if blue doesn't first pick one of them) as red side. And this creates a whole different matchup than just the morde open. GP, while not as strong as morde, doesn't have as much counterpick options and is a counterpick to morde himself. I think a morde vs GP matchup is a fair one, but EDG should've picked a ranged midlaner and/or top to deal with gp barrels and have some kind of waveclear and/or siege.

awer4553DAFERdaB3 votesI dont think so, the only way to really win fights for EDG was to all in. There wasn't much they could force with in fights. EDG picked to close out the game fast, Fnatic picked to control the game in late-mid into late game. EDG probably had max 5minutes of doing something before the game was basicly lost.
Yes EDG had a gold advantage, but just gold doesn't mean anything.
The Bíg Ticket3 votesThere is a reason why EDG agreed on a remake and then banned Morde themselves...they weren't gonna win this game most likely. Their team had 0 siege, waveclear and 0 engage. Mordekaiser most likely wouldn't have done much vs an Azir, GP and Vayne who also have Gragas to peel. He would have to walk through Azir's soldiers, GP's barrels and ultimates while Vayne can free hit him. Their only hope was in the splitpush.

B3ER1 votesMorde wasn't enough to win that game. Fnatic were getting to their control point where EDG would need fluke engages to win fights. Not saying it isn't possible, I'm just saying to not view the advantages that EDG had as game defining.
