He could just be moving onto different projects within the organization (similar to what happened in the offseason where pulse/saita moved to the LPL casting and subsequently made froskurinn look like the greatest caster of all time). With Captainflowers (my vote for NA rookie of the split) making NA watchable and the analyst desk focusing more on "guests" (scarra), it wouldn't surprise me if they just decided to have one of their more experience casters focus on other things.
He's still there.
Thought he was fired?
What are you guys talking about? He's still part of the Casting/Analyst team, been the host for a number of Riot's LolEsport stream for NALCS Tonight shows on Sunday after the last game of the week as well. He just did the 2017!Galio Champion Spotlight. He may not be the most prominently featured lately, (with the end of PTL, and only a few segments from the show surviving, such as The Penta (Rivington), This or That (Jatt, Kobe), and The Breakdown (Jatt), and now the start of The Dive (Jatt, Kobe, and Azael) but Phreak's still there. Though admittedly, I feel like his casting has got a more serious/critical feel to it now.
Phreak also has his Twitch Stream/Youtube Channel, and seriously, you want some good advice and breakdown of the Patch notes, watch them. Not only do you get his opinion, but he also brings in charts and graphs with the numerical breakdown of how much a change affects a champion, but also some of the insider insight as to why the change was made.
i saw him last week, on NLCS
