If it's SKT vs KOO in the finals

Lugg··12 votes·3,418 views

I honestly won't even watch it. I mean, what's the point? Everyone knows SKT will win that matchup. Complete letdown if that happens.

Going to be the same outcome no matter who they face LMFAO

FNC at least has a decent chance since they have taken SKT to 5 games already this year. KOO hasn't even touched them this year.

Biffolo3 votes

FNC took a weak skt to 5 games. This skt and that skt are very different. Wolf has seriously refined his play, and where does fnatic have the advantage? Certainly not their map play. Huni is great but not Marin. Febiven vs faker? Maybe bottom lane, but bang and wolf have shown they can just exist and not fall too far behind time and time again against better bottom lanes this year, which is all they really need to do. Even in the jungle, I put my money on bengi over reignover in terms of how much he helps is team.

ROFL!

Saying SKT was weak is hilarious. You should do stand up comedy. SKT was very strong then and they are strong now. FNC though has really gelled during the summer and should be able to give them a fight. You have to realize that Fnatic IS the EU All Star Team. Every starter was the best at their position this year.

If SKT doesn't treat them as an equal going into the series, FNC will sweep them.

Biffolo1 votes

Skt WAS weak. Look at wolf's play throughout all of MSI. He got caught, he laned like shit, and do not forget that one dive top lane against the maokai vs EDG where he literally missed tibbers. Easyhoon did not do anything during that tournament really, and it was before Marin became the monster that he's performing at today. That was partially due to the meta not permitting him to carry as hard, but it's still true. He can carry harder now than he could at MSI, and he's just playing better. Bang has also really stepped up over the past few months. He went from an average korean adc to something that is capable of carrying when called upon. Before MSI the only time he really did that was game 4 vs CJ and SKT where he hard carried on lucian. That's it.

RisenDarkKnight1 votes

FNC also had Steelback instead of Rekkles as adc then. They have been much stronger since then. SKT will probably still win, but FNC is much better now than they were then while SKT were undefeated before MSI.

Biffolo1 votes

Rekkles isn't the kind of ADC to singlehandedly carry a game though, and the bottom lane isn't where fnatic would lose. It's just everywhere else. I do give the edge to fnatics bottom lane, but is it really enough? And the I think the answer is no.

I see you are trying to talk a bit with SKT fans, don't bother they are very boring and all of them talk mostly same things. I suggest you to drop it before you get irritated. I actually started to dislike SKT because of its fanbase.

As for topic, I agree. Any match that goes 3:0 and is absolute slaughter fest is really boring.

Lugg2 votes

It's not that I hate SKT or anything, I just want to see someone win other than a Korean team. It's much more fun to watch games when there is more parity.

TPA is not China they would get so angry if you say that.

Taiwan. The People's Republic of China, then. It is in the geographic vicinity of China. AKA it is not Korea, which was the point I was trying to make.

My mistake. I just knew that they played on the Garena server.

China and Taiwan have their own separate servers. They are quite different.

TPA was from Taiwan.

Korea has won the last two, that's why I want to see someone new.

Basically, I was at worlds yesterday and there were 2 SKT fans next to me. They were suspiciously quiet the first game but after that they were constantly yelling "SKT 3-0 GG EZ" They spoke french, go figure right?

LANWhale3 votes

I for one accept our SKT overlords.

Raoul2 votes

It doesnt matter who they face. No other team that is currently in the Pro League can really beat SKT

Lugg2 votes

There's no doubt SKT is a great team, but they have shown kinks in the armor. It's just that no team has been able to take advantage of it yet.

SKT's machine takes time to be at 100%. But when they do, it's unstoppable

YCitizenSnipsY2 votes

What makes you so sure that the same won't happen to FNC if they make it. SKT demolished the same AHQ team that FNC struggled with.

Lugg4 votes

FNC took SKT to 5 games at MSI and they have improved more than SKT since then. FNC is definitely good enough to beat them.

Stop holding on to msi things changed.

Lugg3 votes

Yes they have changed. FNC is WAY better now than they were then.

Biffolo4 votes

So is skt.

YCitizenSnipsY3 votes

Skt had four day to prepare for MSI. The LCK spring final was 5 days before the first day of MSI. This SKT is much more prepared than they were 6 months ago.

Lugg2 votes

True, but FNC is way better than they were 6 months ago.

YCitizenSnipsY3 votes

So are SKT...

Bang and wolf look a lot better than they did at MSI, and bengi just won two games as fucking J4. SKT at their worst was still better than 4 of the 5 FNC players currently. Also didn't SKT have a sub in at jungle druing the FNC series.

I don't see anything from this tournament to say that FNC has a chance to beat SKT. they aren't undefeated and SKT have beaten teams that FNC struggled with.

Lugg1 votes

SKT has improved slightly, there wasn't a lot of room to improve.

J4 is still a very strong jungler if played correctly, no idea why you think he's weak. SKT was still deciding on who their main jungler would be at that time, so I don't think it made a big difference.

SKT is undefeated because they have had the easiest road to the Finals in the history of League. Since EDG didn't show up at all, they haven't faced a great team all tourney.

Yeah, SKT is a great team, but they have been handed the Finals on a silver platter. To say otherwise is just plain silly.

YCitizenSnipsY3 votes

SKT was better then, even slightly improving would make them better now.

J4 is only being picked because Gragas is disabled, making him an off meta pick at best. Considering that Bengi just now started using that champion, who would other wise have seen no play at this tournament , and crushed a "top 4" team means that is a really big deal. especially when you consider that the last time that FNC played SKT they had a sub in the jungle.

SKT just 3-0'ed a team that FNC went 1-1 with and to be honest could have very well been 0-2 against How can you dismiss the strength of their competition when they destroyed a team that FNC barely beat. Also how do you discredit EDG when thats the same opponent that FNC had to beat to get into semi's?

SKT had their finals handed to them on a silver platter? Just because they showed up as the best team at the tournament and have basically embarrassed everyone else doesn't make they quality of their wins any worse.

Biffolo3 votes

Ignore him, he's a fnatic fanboy. He doesn't get skt had the easy group and the easy side of the bracket BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE TO FACE SKT. That's why it seems so easy, because they can slam any team there. It's the same reason "TSM had a hard group". Any of the groups would have been hard for tsm, seeing as they are weaker than nearly everyone there.

Lugg1 votes

FNC fanboy??? What crack are you smoking? I am cheering for them because they have the best chance of an LCS team of winning.

Easy bracket? ROFL! SKT had the easiest road to a Finals in the history of sports, since EDG didn't even show up for Worlds.

BTW, I'm not a TSM fan either.

So try to know what you are talking about before posting and making yourself look bad.

Biffolo2 votes

First off, it wouldn't matter if EDG showed up for worlds, seeing as they still would have gotten out because h2k and bangkok titans are walking trashcans compared to everyone else them. Hell, I think TSM could beat them, and that's saying something. The results from MSI are so outdated that it doesn't matter. By that logic I could argue that since SKT won season 3 worlds and have improved they are going to win without a doubt now. Huni is incredibly prone to tilting, and when he faces a better laner and a better jungler, that's a recipe for disaster. We watched it happen to soaz yesterday. Febiven isn't going to have more of an impact on the game as faker, reignover isn't as good at pathing as bengi. Sure, fnatics bottom lane gets the slight edge, but rekkles isn't the breakout hard carry go 36/0 adc. Not to mention, they aren't THAT much stronger. Also, this wolf compared to MSI wolf is almost as large of an upgrade as steelback to rekkles. And hey, that's your choice if you want to root for the underdogs. I prefer watching the better teams win, even if it's who I don't support. It's why I had no problem watching SSW steamroll everyone last year, because they were the best and deserved the wins. It wasn't disappointing in my eyes, because the best team won. Which is the entire point of a tournament, to determine who the best is.

Lugg1 votes

because h2k and bangkok titans are walking trashcans compared to everyone else them.

Had to upvote you just for this. LOL

Biffolo1 votes

So if fnatic gets smacked by KOO, how again were they supposed to beat SKT?

Lugg1 votes

It's the EXACT same thing that happened yesterday. EU gets a big lead, blows it with stupid decisions, and then goes on tilt.

There's no way you can deny that the first 15 minutes of both games were dominated by EU.

Biffolo1 votes

My point is, it doesn't matter how far ahead you get if you can't win with it. And skt's early game is significantly better than koo, so those decisions would matter even more.

Lugg1 votes

Yeah, SKT was better than FNC then. That's why they won. SKT has polished their game since then for sure, but FNC has made HUGE improvements since then.

I discredit EDG because they didn't show up for Worlds at all. It seems all of the Chinese teams started believing the hype and didn't prepare.

Look at the teams SKT has played at Worlds. Up until today, they were all garbage tier. OG should have beat them the first game today but they threw that hard.

BTW, J4 was Benji's most played champ in Spring this year. So hasn't just started using him.

YCitizenSnipsY3 votes

With like the least amount of preparation of any team at MSI they still cam in second, now that they have had a fair amount of time to prepare as well as their players have gotten some international experience, the have vastly improved since the last time they faced FNC.

SKT has manhandled two team that FNC could barely beat, OG took them to 5 games in the EU LCS and AHQ went 1-1 with FNC. Just because SKT didn't struggle to beat them like FNC did doesn't' mean that the count as less of a win.

Also J4 was bengi's most played champion in spring, you mean like 15 patches ago before warrior got nerfed and cinderhulk got introduced? yeah that old news the real question is when has he used him since the juggernaut changes were put into play. He is bringing out an off meta champ and steamrolling teams.

Also who have FNC played note worthy? They went 1-1 with C9 who everybody expected to do poorly. They went 1-1 with AHQ whose own coach didn't think they could beat. They beat IG 2-0 but they legitimately didn't show up and did terrible compared to previous games. And they beat EDG, who subbed a top laner that hadn't even played any matches professionally on the juggernaut patch, but you discredit them anyway.

Lugg1 votes

SKT has a very good organization of analysts and coaches. To think that they weren't prepared for MSI is pretty hard to believe. They prepare as well or better than any team on the planet. Saying that they "vastly" improved since MSI is basically not humanly possible.

SKT sure didn't manhandle OG in the first game. OG threw that one and went on tilt for games 2 and 3. AHQ beat FNC during the first week when FNC played like the Chinese teams. And let's not forget that it turned out that SKT had the easiest group in Worlds and the easiest quarterfinal matchup as well.

I couldn't find the stats for Benji's champ pool for summer, but I bet he played him. BTW, J4 is by no means weak. It's just that Elise, Gragas, Rek'sai, and Lee Sin are just stronger.

Cloud 9 was an absolute wrecking ball week 1 and FNC played awful that week, which is also why they lost to AHQ. EDG just sucked this Worlds, so I don't put anything into beating them.

It comes down to this, SKT is the favorite and rightfully so. They have been the most consistent team all year. However, if FNC plays like they are capable of, they can definitely beat them.

YCitizenSnipsY2 votes

SKT played in the LCK spring final on 5/2 MSI started on 5/7. Considering a flight from Korea to Tallahassee is at least 24 hrs they wouldn't have landed till at least 5/3. That gives them 3 days of actual practice coming immediately off a Bo5 in the LCK. They have had over a month to prepare for this tournament so yeah they have greatly improved.

I'm sorry did SKT not 3-0 OG because getting 3-0 is what i would call man handled. Actually OG had the easiest game going into quarters AHQ>FW. Also Still doesn't answer who have FNC played? They are struggling against the same teams SKT beat comfortably.

Honestly if FNC even beat KOO they would be lucky to get 1 game off of SKT with the way they are playing. But we'll see I'll buy into the FNC hype when they prove its real.

Lugg1 votes

I just want to see FNC play SKT the way they are capable of playing. It would be pretty awesome to watch.

bojajina2 votes

Come on just admit it. You hate SKT, and it's evident by your post history. You make so many excuses to discredit SKT, when they look by FAR the strongest team at worlds.

You say OG should have beat SKT in game 1. Well AHQ should be up 2-0 against FNC by your logic.

Lugg1 votes

{quoted}

You make so many excuses to discredit SKT,

I guess saying that they are the favorite and a great team is discrediting them.

YCitizenSnipsY2 votes

And surprise surprise, FNC drops to another team that SKT has manhandled all season. This is why I didn't buy into the FNC hype

bojajina1 votes

In hindsight fnc probably had close to zero chance of beating skt even on a good day.

bojajina1 votes

In hindsight fnc probably had close to zero chance of beating skt on any given day

Shosuko9 votes

Yeah and on that line of reasoning...

EDG BEAT SKT in msi...

EDG lost to SKT1 as their fastest won game yet O_O

Don't bet on that msi record...

ZEP0S02 votes

I have no idea why everyone keeps bringing up MSI like it's still relevant in anything other than mindset. And even then it's barely. MSI was over five months ago and the meta has shifted tremendously since then. Honestly the MSI match-up has little to no bearing anymore. That being said, FNC is definitely the stronger team going into the series against KOO. I hope they show up and bring their A game for SKT next week.

Lugg1 votes

People keep bringing it up, because going head to head in international play is the best way to gauge teams.

grimrookzero1 votes

its not even close fnc if they make it will get smoked
