My Na Power Rankings after 1 week of play.

Top Tier:

  1. Cloud 9 (S 2-0 , G 4-1): As of right now, they look like the best team in the region, Contractz struggling a bit vs Chaser/DIg still had a good opening weak. Besting TSM in a solid 2 games that make Dlift's absence a worrying trend. Impact, Jensen, and Sneaky all look like top 2-3 at their positions. Smoothie looks like he has gotten better or more comfortable, with some clutch plays.

  2. Dig (S 1-1, G 3-3): Pushed C9 to their limits, although their 1st series went the distance vs P1, I think that's more of a compliment for P1 over a ding towards Dig. Ssumday and Chaser look like quality imports, Keane looks good enough to maybe be a top 5 mid. LoD was the right domestic choice at ADC and has a lot of room to grow, Xpecial is still doing Xpeical things.

  3. Team Solo Mid (S 1-1, G 2-3):Tsm's opening series vs C9 kinda went on to be a clown fiesta in game two but that was a good game one. The TSM Vs IMT series was intense but lets be real, That come back game 1 was pretty awesome, but in all rights they should of lost that game, IMT couldn't close em out. All 3 games looked pretty close and all went to 50+ mins I believe. I almost want to bump them down a tier, but as TSM normally does, they'll get it together in time for play-offs, so for now they stay put.

Middle Tier:

  1. Immortals (S 1-1, G 3-3): You could argue they are better then TSM, even with the loss to TSM. I think needing a third game vs EF kinda hurt their rating for me. IMT put up good games vs TSM, but ultimately couldn't close it out when it mattered. Flame looks somewhat overhyped, he may not even be a top 5 top laner atm. Dardoch looked good but still made sloppy mistakes. Pobelter, the 3rd best Mid laner imo ( i give him a slight edge over Ryu). IMT bot lane seems like it needs some work, or a overall upgrade but the year is still young.

  2. Phoenix1 (S 1-1, G 3-2): This team looks like a solid sleeper in a world where NA teams have never been better. Inori looks like a beast, Zig's looks serviceable, Ryu and Arrow are quality imports and proven commodities, and Aidrian has proven the last couple years to be a quality support who can baby sit his AD. Beating EF is meh, but pushing DIG to 3 games was a huge step for a team many think is a bottom tier team.

  3. FlyQuest (S 2-0, G4-1): I'll probably get some flack for placing them this low, and I very might should. 2-0 NV, with Ninja at JG and Alex at Mid isn't really that impressive. Beating TL 2-1 though was, Hai, Lemon and even Moon were great in this series. I just don't want to jump the gun on Cloud 9 White for wins over teams I considering weaker then FQ. Balls seems to still be serviceable, Moon is already having a better split then his last LCS appearances, as is Altec post Gravity. This though, feels like Hai and Lemon synergy winning these games. Goldenglue just couldn't handle Hai's aggression. TL couldn't keep up with Hai's shot calling.

  4. Team Liquid (S 1-1 G 3-2): I really don't get the hype, this seams like team Reignover and Piglet. Lourlo has been surprisingly great but Goldenglue is holding this team back. Matt seems to be a good support, nothing special though. I honestly would rather see them start Link, but Idk how much better that will make them. RO and Piglet are top 3 at their position and Lourlo is making a clam to fight Haunzter for the best domestic Top Laner. Lourlo though hasn't laned vs a conscientious top 5 Top yet though, taking on Darshaun and Balls, both domestic veterns who have fallen from grace. How will he do vs the likes of Impact, Huantzer, Ssumday, Looper, Flame or Seraph.

  5. Counter Logic Gaming (1-1 G 2-2): Another one I feel like I'll get flack for, but who above them should they be better than atm? Flyquest? Phoenix1? Liquid? Well TL already disbatched them 2-0, FQ looks like a better or at least a identical version, P1 prolly have a couple weaker lanes then CLG (ZIg/Aidrean) but they also have way better players (Ryu/Arrow) and right now I'll give Xmitty and Inori a even grade. Darshaun is to inconsitent and again in a world where the Top laners have been massively upgraded. Huhi is a extremely poor man's Hai and Stixxay is only good in important games or vs weak teams. Aphro is a beast, and Xmitty is good as well, but that's not going to be enough this split.

Bottom Tier:

  1. Echo Fox(S 0-2, G 1-4): I feel bad for Rick Fox, cause you can tell he's trying. Looper was a good step in upgrading your tean, Froggen can maybe regain his EU form, Akaadin had a good opening weekend given the situation of the team he's on. Keith/Gate are a bottom tier bot lane though, they won't be able to climb the ranks with them.

  2. Team Envy(S 0-2 G 0-4): They pushed CLG pretty far, but again I ranked CLG at 8th so that doesn't say much. Without seeing Lira, this team is basically Sereph and wards. Ninja is meh, Alexich's time has expired, Apollo has never been anything more then a utility AD. I think Hauho has room to grow though.

Just my opinion, wanted to make a fun discussion post.

Tell me your opinions, lets have some fun debates! or flame me your choice :)

                                                                                      A TIER CLOUD 9

CLOUD 9 - I'm putting C9 by themselves in tier A because they've beaten TSM giving them a series lose in week 1 where it took close to a full split for a team to do that. As well as beating DIG. Really good synergy from them and the carries are performing in lane.

  • It will be interesting to see if the meta changes because the poke bot lane is a key reason why C9 are looking so good because of the poke meta it helps Sneaky with his lane phase something that he hasn't been great at, he's been getting better and better each split but it's still the core problem or weakness about him.

B TIER PHOENIX ONE and DIGNITAS

PHOENIX ONE and DIGNITAS - Both teams are stacked with talent but aren't SKT that's for sure, they both have weaknesses that they need to clean up.
For P1 the team just never really goes in when they should they sit still for 40 mins doing nothing productive but goes in when they shouldn't, communication is a given.

For DIG who is their leader on that team ? I feel like Xpecial,LOD and Keane are just followers of Ssumday and Chaser, like follow the cool kids and do what they do type of style. As much pressure as Ssumday gets and those 3 are just eating potato chips or something like YOU know they will get attention from the other teams so do something productive on the other side of the map cause Chaser will always be near the side that Ssumday is on because of the communication advantage and he's one of the best top players in the world.

TIER C TEAM SOLOMID - COUNTER LOGIC GAMING - IMMORTALS

TEAM SOLOMID - They look so much like the 2015 Summer TSM that does NOTHING but waits till 45 mins in game and prays for a teamfight so they can stroll down mid with death timers being a year long to just win the game. 0 Dragon focus and as long as their games are and have have so little objective focus it's not looking good for TSM that's for sure.

COUNTER LOGIC GAMING - The days of strategic games are over for CLG, instead it's which ever team dies the most. They would either have decent gold leads and lose in 50 mins or be down in gold but win in 50 mins. They will be a 50/50 team a record of 9-9 wouldn't be too far off with the way that they are playing right now. Having the same core players while other teams are scrambled with new talent and problems like communication CLG had an advantage but even with that advantage they look bad.

IMMORTALS - Not going to lie I had this team only winning like 3 games(3 series) for the whole split and they are 1-1 right now! The 50+ min games is actually a blessing in disguise because it helps the players develop synergy during those hard games and it's working for the most part. An example of this was the Pobelter Ryze ult that almost worked around the 50 min mark that lmost own IMT the game, it takes those types of plays that makes a team an actual team and I love their effort.

TIER D TEAM LIQUID - FLYQUEST

Tier D isn't a "bad team" tier but more so as a ? tier. Team Liquid before the split looked good like 7/10 good but jesus this team looks awful even with Reignover. I always thought the Matt/Piglet lane sucked but even I thought with Reignover Piglet would look good but man was I wrong. I feel like Piglet has gone through so much since coming to NA that I don't think he cares anymore honestly and it's showing only getting 8 kills but dying 21 times, and this is suppose to be a top player in the world? FlyQuest yes they look good, yes they have Hai but c'mon they beat NV and TL............. let that soak in. Now I know TL beat CLG and I have CLG in Tier C and FQ in tier D but like I said Tier D isn't a bad tier but a ? tier that's all. FQ will face CLG in week 2 and I'm going to say they lose to CLG 2-0.

                                                            TIER F - ECHO FOX - ENVYUS

Echo Fox - when will Froggen actually do something instead of farm for 50 mins and have mediocre shotcalling? Seriously he's been like this since he joined the LCS and he normally either loses or barely wins but people say "Froggen doesn't have a team" it doesn't MATTER!!! He could have Duke-Peanut-Bang-and Mata on his team and if he and ONLY HIM was given shotcall rights so he can only tell them what and where to go and have a chief - Indian sort of shotcalling I promise you he will be like " Ok let me farm for 50 mins and...." He never plays aggressive or helps his team, he's like that solo Q adc or carry that never starts the fight so the team can win the game he just sits in the back doing nothing but wanting everything handed to him.
Like no! EF won't go anywhere with Froggen PERIOD.

ENVYUS - Can't say too much because of Lira but honestly it won't matter much anyways.

my prediction is

c9 is top

CLG, TSM, Immortals, Liquid, Flyquest, Dignitas are all too close to call at the moment, but i believe TSM, and CLG will find their stride and be tied for 2nd with Flyquest, I think Immortals and Dignitas will fall off and be 3rd place quality, and liquid will be around or slightly below dig and immortals if they fall off, but have potential to be right under 2nd place as well...they're hard to figure out atm

Echofox, P1 are lagging in the bottom ranks a bit

Envy will most likely get relegated

Downvoted this post because of the fact that the "tiers" look to be more about balance (multiple teams in each) instead of reality:

Top Tier- If we're looking at which NA team "impressed" and showed that they're worthy of being considered top tier, C9 can only really be listed up there. With Impact, they have no true weaknesses with Smoothie showing an improved quality to his play. Barring self-sabotage (putting ray in the lineup), no team comes close to what they have the power to do this year. Not TSM (who look significantly more exploitable with turtle), not Dignitas (who will probably finish around 6th unless Keanu/Ssumday can carry every game for them), not anyone.

Mid Tier- If we're looking at teams who are "moderately good" for NA, it's hard to really consider flyquest one of them after week one. Sure, they beat up on TL (who should start Link for week two to see if he can be of any use this split to them), but their other win is heavily controversial. They 2-0'd my pick for the 9th-best NA team, who was starting their mid-laner in the jg, and had a mid-tier challenger-level mid laner starting (who despite playing what was without question the best games he's played since coming to NA still wasn't "allowed" to shine on anything carry-oriented). In a way, that win sorta hurt flyquest as it did nothing to quell their haters (people will look at the series and ask why it took them 35mins to close both games) and didn't allow people to gauge how good they are compared to the likes of IMT/P1.

Bottom Tier- Bit of housekeeping needed here. While NV did go 0-4 this week, they sorta have a few excuses for that (having to start the aformentioned ich, and not really scrimming at all). Echo fox on the other hand, ugh. While they did win 1 game, they looked to be over-reliant on specific circumstances to generate any sort of lead in any of their games. Unless they can stall out every game 50+ mins so their gold-hungry players can get to 6 items, and can get the exact perfect team comps to do it with (possibly taking froggen off anivia, as NA is wise to it now), then they look to be a 10th place team in the making.

my rankings

1 C9- Obvious bias, yes but i dont think i need to explain this one. All 6 players look pretty good.

2 Team Dignitas. I underestimated Keane, he's alot better than i thought he was. Chaser's not bad, Ssumday is scary, but im not sold on LOD or Xpecial.

3 Phoenix 1- I really like what im seeing so far, only Zig doesn't look too good after feeding 3 game in a row

4 Fly Quest- Really not sold on Moon and a bit more sold on Altec but not all the way yet. That's the only reason I won't put them at 3

5 TSM- It's TSM, they dont do anything until spring playoffs start. It's not like they suck or anything but they

6 Team Liquid- They get the 6th slot for being team Liquid, they were so damn inconsistent last season that it pissed me off.

7 CLG- I dont understand you CLG. You were a mid level team last summer, and made 0 roster changes.

8 Immortals- They just look decent all around. You dont get far looking decent though. Envy was decent last year, look where it got them. NRG was decent last spring, they're gone now.

9- Ekko Fox- It's pretty much Looper and Akaadian vs the world. Keith and Gate should not be starting and while Froggen is pulling his weight with a bot lane as useless as theirs he needs to be doing more. I doubt they will get relegated though so they get to be ahead of Envy

10 Envy- All this talk of "its not their actual roster" doesn't mean anything when you look as bad as Envy does right now. Seraph looks ok but nobody else. Lira wont fix this, somebody needs to step up now or they will be relegated.

I basically agree. I think FQ can easily be top 3-4 but i havnt seen enough of them playing yet to determine that, because they could also be 6-8. Hopefully by week 5 we will have seen enough to make a more accurate tier. It all depends on how good they play and how bad others play. For me it goes as of right now , 1 c9 2 dig 3 tsm 4 FQ 5 Pi 6 Imt 7 TL 8 CLG 9 Ekko fox, and 10 NV

woodvsmurph1/25/2017, 1:25:01 AM1 votes

c9 -- agree they can/should be top tier team unless they fall apart somehow or other teams overperform. dig - overrated; keane eventually plays too many counter-picks, gets focused early and shut down or fails to exploit his counter-pick and gets outscaled. there may be team synergy and/or communication issues in the future too. finally, it's dig; they will do dig stuff and fall off for no apparent reason. tsm - their cohesion as a unit will improve and this will ramp up their standing; there seemingly isn't a bad or easily exploited player on the team immortals -- yeah flame overhype is real; he was just OK in Korea for awhile now, so it's not like he is going to come to NA and wreck face -- especially in a largely tank meta; team will probably fluctuate between mid tier and top tier all season depending on if their communication and synergy is there p1 -- inori looks more amazing than he is -- not saying he isn't good; but we all know how broken a fed kha or rengar can be from solo queue -- makes an ok player look godlike. Also arrow and aidrian somewhat have a meta that favors their preferred playstyle right now. When you hit a meta where you need a tank engage support, aidrian will probably still be trying to force karma, janna, and raka. This hurt immortals some last season and will probably hurt p1 this season unless he learned his lesson. flyquest -- agree with mid-tier placing; they will beat the low tier teams off experience and shotcalling but lack the mechanics, etc. to match the top tier teams. liquid -- they may crash and burn because of Piglet and Dardoch, or they may get along well as a team and move up to top-tier. They have the mechanics, so it all depends on maintaining good relations outside the game as well as building up team synergy within the game. clg -- can Darshan still play carry/split-push champs to his old level on Coast? We never saw it all last season. Does Huhi have a bigger champ pool that he can play to top-tier level, or is he still limited to the same 3ish champs if he needs to hard carry? Do they have comps they can consistently execute (with 10 bans now) that don't revolve around "snowball stixxay and let him carry"? Is their team still far enough ahead of the game on map rotations and team synergy to beat other teams who have better individual mechanics? Only time will tell. If they can have some strats other than "stixxay carry" even when Huhi is denied his 3 best champs and Darshan can return to his glory days form they would easily take #1 spot, but I think that's more than we can expect. echo fox -- agreed with you; Rick Fox is awesome with how much he supports esports and NA even when it's not his team playing, but he's got some players who are too weak or past their ability to carry CONSISTENTLY. Sure Froggen can look good on corki mid when it's in-meta, but that's hardly enough. Should have picked a different mid. Their bot? Not horrible, but not going to carry the team in most games either. Sorry Rick, but you either needs some different players or you are probably in promo tournament again. envy -- good assessment; Alex Ich is in similar boat to Froggen -- should have retired with grace instead of continue playing pro level when you can't keep up consistently, Seraph sticks with his friends like Ninja, but they are holding him back. Please Seraph, just find a good team and maybe you can finally make worlds and show other regions what you are truly capable of.
