Why is P1 selected as the top 3 NA teams to represent in Rift Rivals?

Shouldn't it be CLG or IMT? How does the choosing work again?

I think it was based off last split rather than this one

Honestly it's not that hard to look up. It's based off of the Spring Split/Split 1 playoff results. Since P1 got 3rd, they earned the opportunity to compete despite their current place in the standings.

Same applies to MVP in the LCK and M17 in the LMS in regards to premier regions; their spring split was good enough to earn the spot upon announcement and condition for attendance.

Spring split finishes, TSM number 1, C9 number 2, P1 number 3. Same for EU.

Last split instead of this split I suppose which is annoying, the teams already had their spotlight in the Playoffs etc. Give some other teams not just named TSM a chance to succeed in these international tournaments.

You do know that TSM is Top 3 right now and would still go to Rift Rivals if it was based off of current rankings?

I understand that but I saying I wanted teams like IMT/CLG/TSM instead of just the same ol' same ol' is all.

To be fair, it would just be IMT different, and that's kinda equal to P1 being different. CLG has gone to Worlds plenty of times now, and MSI last year. TSM goes to every international event, C9 always goes to Worlds. We're getting one new international team no matter what we get.

Now, if you want to argue that picking teams mid-summer instead of at the end of spring would bring better teams, I can't argue, because it's true, although it would create some logistical problems.

When I heard about RR IMT/NV/DIG were the top 3 teams, so I thought they were going to represent NA just to give those teams/players some exp in which in the long run for NA would help make the NA scene actually competitive.
Whats a big factor when experts/analysis talk about when discussing teams - EXP.

That's all I'm really wanting/getting out of RR - I don't care about the NA/EU rivalry I just want NA/The Western Scene to improve from the bottom of the standings all the way to the top of the standings.

RR what's the prize/reward/logic other than just have something for fans to watch and not expect LCK/SKT to dominate and ultimately win like they always do in these tournaments, so why not give these other teams some practice knowing TSM/C9/G2/FNC are pretty much lock-ins for Worlds anyways.
If it's just for fun and most likely not an annual tournament( It pretty much got created because of the backlash/boredom of fans watching the same ol' same ol', so they created it out of their butts to please the fans) So Riot could have done anything they wanted, yet, it's from last split standings backtracking a split ago. ;[

Most likely UOL will beat TSM cause they always do, C9 will most likely represent NA and get further than the rest of the NA teams like they always do, P1 will actually surprise people to some extent and FNC v C9 will be the final series will be my prediction
