Have the Moderators and/or Riot ever considered introducing an "Intermediator" position?

I would think that it would benefit Riot a great deal to have a select few volunteers who could help to identify the best of the best in terms of gameplay or balance discussions in order to draw attention to well-written posts on issues of importance to the community.

I understand that Wuks (Bless them) already stared doing something similar by reviving the Weekly Community Roundup, and this is awesome! But I am wondering how much Rioter attention this gets...? It might help to improve player perception about Riot's involvement with the community if something along these lines is implemented.

Also players with justice boners (like myself) who may be ill-suited to act as moderators might still be useful in such a role without moderator powers.

Thoughts?

Mediator? Intermediary? Middle man?

I think that something like "Icons", like the Lock one, could help to get discussions and technical/advanced post the audience that deserve/need, or maybe they could get a special rank or a special sorting like the "recent, "hot" etc.

Heyo! Thanks for the super kind words :3

Anyway, regarding your discussion, can you elaborate on:

But I am wondering how much Rioter attention this gets...? It might help to improve player perception about Riot's involvement with the community if something along these lines is implemented.

Additionally, with the role you're envisioning, how would they draw attention to well-written posts and what other responsibilities do you imagine they'd be tasked with?

I believe the plan with the expanded Warden role is basically what you're suggesting here. In addition to moderation efforts I imagine they'll be keeping an eye out for promising threads and passing them along to Wuks. It seems a bit odd to have a role that ONLY does that though.
