your chances of getting upvotes increases drastically, even if it doesn't make any sense or is blatantly false. It's ridiculous.

Take the upcoming Ninja Tabi nerfs for example. This item shapes the meta in top lane because of its cheap cost and ability to shut down bruisers. On top of that it is a great pick up for adc players because it trades off a little bit of AS for tons of dueling potential and survivability vs Assassins, other ADCs, and bruisers.
