I can't believe you removed my comment for "harassment."
I wasn't harassing anyone.
I only told someone I had reported them for saying I was stupid.
Man, you are the second Rioter I've had that has taken my stuff off due to accusations that I was being mean to someone when I wasn't.
Makes me think you guys really need to learn what real harassment is and go AFTER THOSE PEOPLE, not me. My comment shouldn't have been removed.
Laughing Fish8 votesI'm sorry you feel that way. However, your comment added nothing to the conversation. It was purely a comment to let someone know you reported them. If someone is insulting or harassing you, the correct course of action is just to report them and let us deal with it. There is nothing positive gained by making the report public, it only makes the discussion feel more hostile.
Also, I am not a Rioter nor am I an employee of Riot. I am part of the boards Volunteer Moderator program as detailed here.

You are in the wrong here. I suggest you delete comments that are actually offensive and verbally harassing, such as people attacking others verbally on here instead of wrongly removing a comment just because "it added nothing."

It was a mild form of harassment sure, but still a form of harassment. To report a comment, you don't have to say anything. The only reason to state that you reported someone is to try and publicly call them out.

I deleted the comment you reported as well. If you see something that is offensive or verbally harassing that is being left up, please make sure you report it so we can see it. While moderators do our best to handle things quickly and efficiently, we are only human and can't see everything that is ever posted on the boards. If you report it though, even if it takes a little while sometimes, we will see it. However, just because someone else also broke the rules isn't free reign for you to as well. Every poster is judged as an individual, and is responsible for their posts and their posts alone.

But I think MysticDreams has a valid point here if he's post was the only response to a person insulting him. He restates his belief and opinion, mentions that he feels strongly enough about being treated that badly to report the individual (a sign the other was not joking with them in a playful fashion), and then dismisses the entire conversation rather than reengage in it. If that's how this played out then there's some legitimate reason to remove the prior offending comment and the OP's comment if you believe it could lead to a derailment of a thread for some reason. Some. But the harasser's comment would be the only one to warrant any form of real punishment.
@ MysticDreams, you have to remember that the volunteers are NOT Rioters. They don't work for Riot, they don't get paid, they just do this out of the kindness of their hearts every day to keep the boards an inviting place for all sorts of people to visit. Like you and me and everyone else, they too are human and imperfect. If all that occurred was the removal of your comment it was likely just to prevent any escalation, particularly since it doesn't seem a boards ban or time out or anything like that was issued. So it appears to be a case of one of our volunteers doing his best to preempt something he felt might get out of hand and maybe not succeeding as well as we might hope. It happens.
