The gist of the post is that sony is making a "gaystation" console that will be put on the open market soon. This is completely incorrect.

The "gaystation" is a one-off console made and AUCTIONED (meaning the 4,000 price tag was reached by bidding) by a swedish retailer to raise money.

OP's only source for this information is some winky emojis on twitter some speculation on PS forums.

Not only is this post homophobia bait, but it is spreading legitimately false information. It needs to be taken down.

It's not homophobia bait as much as spreading awareness that people are trying to take advantage of the LGBTQ+ movement.

He's also bringing it to the attention of people that may not have known about it, such as myself. The only reason I bring that up as relevent is that my brother, whom I love dearly, is gay, and he hadn't seen it either. When I showed it to him to ask his opinion, he found it incredibly offensive. Even as just a 1-off. He his not the type to get offended easily. He and his boyfriend and friends, and myself use slurs as jokes all the time, he does not get upset about anything, but he did find it overall offensive.

When something inflammatory and gets a lot of attention, it's probably news that are severely oversimplified, mischaracterised, or straight up unironic fake news. The same goes for other pieces of writing.

Why? It's simple. Not only is that nuance is for the most part, not something you just bring out the pitchfork and be done with. But also that because dumb and ignorant people are disinterested in nuance and gullible to emotional manipulation and lies. So it's basically a match made in heaven (or hell), and it shows.
