Feedback: The megathreads posts in Gameplay seem rather pointless

I've seen a couple of these now, the most recent one being "Swain VGU megathread". These hardly seem to get any views or comments. I think you guys should either increase the visibility of it, or just scrap the idea. It took me until today to even notice it, when it was posted 3 days ago, and I frequent the boards a lot. From what I've seen, a regular user just posts a thread regarding the VGU and all the comments and views funnel into that one -- not the designated megathread.

Sometimes they do super well, sometimes they super don't. We've had some major success with a Rengar megathread by reaching out to the rengarmains Reddit community (or maybe they reached out to us) to get discussion going, but sometimes people just don't care to engage in a megathread as much as make their own.

I agree that visibility and timeliness are probably the most important factors, and I think we can continue to get some great discussions going in megathreads around new releases/updates so I want to make some better efforts to be consistent and quick with more of them rather than pulling back on them entirely.

I do want to also mention that pinning the thread does give extra visibility, but much more so if it's a global sticky (on the front page instead of on top of its sub-board), but global stickies are prime real estate and stickies also push down everyone else's content a little so we have to be really picky with what goes there.
