Personally, I prefer banner [generally] since it lets you passively push a lane. Or lets you make an easy monster wave. Lets not forget the supplemental gold income.
I especially enjoy it on Azir with ZZ'rot. Now I control 2 lanes. ;p

By the time a Tank can afford Spirit Visage, Banshee's Veil, and inevitably everyone's favorite pair of Tenacity-inducing boots, I'd water the Support has been able to fully build their Gp10 item, bought their Sightstone, upgraded their trinket, bought boots, and probably has completed either Locket or Banner.
If not...your support was AFK for 15 minutes. Sucks to be you.

They actually do stack for the people in ownership of the item. Both you and your support get two instances of the aura.

Champion Skin1 votesWell it wouldn't be that bad actually as everyone gets 60 MR 400 HP 10% CDR 150% HP regen which is pretty good value for the gold and the shield which could shield up to 690 HP if everyone used it in one teamfight
Good luck killing that team with AoE magic damage with everyone having that much MR and health+shield XD

You may be with your squishy mage or assassin controlling a lane together while the support, jungle and ad are grouped somewhere else. Having two Lockets in a team may not be a bad idea.

As a general rule, I try not to ever build all of one type of resistance. Odds are, they have SOME form of physical/magic damage that'll screw you in the end. Learned that the hard way when I built full armor, and Gangplank's ult would actually chunk me pretty hard (Had all armor+health items+cinderhulk and glory).
Onegarion1 votesBut if the other form isn't a threat usually health can solve that. You should always be building some sort of armor tho. Because even if their ADC is the only AD threat and way behind you still have towers/baron to contest with who will wreck you if you only have MR. If its an all AD team with a weak AP user (like support or the tank) you can build straight armor and a lot of Health and be fine.

Also zac and Varus do quite a bit of magic damage since Zacs is based on enemy health and Varus is %HP too. Its not corki level damage, but its there. If your build was heavy AP damage and not as much supporting items then that is a reason to build MR too. If a champ like a

Champion Skin1 votesWell depends if you are against an AP champion with good sustained damage like Cassiopeia or Kayle it might be good to get quite a bit of MR... Darn if Cassiopeia gets going she can burn through tanks so quickly... well I guess that's the point...
