I've been playing League since season 3, (yeah not that long, pretty sure a lot of you have been here longer), and I actually was a complete noob and had it tough when I started playing because I was using my brother's account that used to play, so I was a noob and was playing with level 30s. I'll admit I sucked ass, and I know how frustrated people were at me when I was feeding. Anyway, I got to gold season 3, and then last season I got to silver, no idea how, guess ranked system got harder from season 3 to 4, and because I made my own account? I don't even know. And now season 5, everyone got demoted a league, so silvers are in bronze. So I am in bronze now.

Every time I get to my series games, I win 1 and lose 2. I've done it 3 times now, and it's always people either feeding, disconnecting, going afk, or just being plain stupid and not wanting to listen to people. I try my best to ping people where to go, to share strategies with team mates and give advice on how to win their lane. Some people take it, great, and some people are the biggest assholes ever. Now yeah, "oh god, another one of these threads", I am sick and tired of having to get to my series and then just lose 2 games cus of other people. I honestly try my best in a variety of different roles, and it doesn't matter what I do, I lose. Sure I'll win here and there with the luck of getting some good players, but most of the time it doesn't work like that. What sucks even more is that most of my friends aren't even as good as me so if I bring them into they are just gonna get rekt.

It's so annoying having to deal with people on this game that play ranked and don't know shit about the game. It really is. It's even more annoying when I am stuck in a league where I don't even belong. Now granted, I am sure some of you will say carry yourself, but I honestly hate playing ADC, it's boring to me, and don't ever get a proper support anyway.

Any advice? Or similar stories? It really isn't even fun anymore, this game doesn't give me enjoyment anymore, it just gives me stress and frustration because of what you've earned getting to the top of the league and then not being able to pass your series games.

Yep, thats the way it is. The ranked system just sucks for solo Q.

Elo hell doesnt exist... if you are actually playin rankeds, you are where you belong. If you cant get out of bronze your simply not better than bronze

if you really, really want to carry yourself in solo queue and climb, you have to limit your selections to a pretty small pool. being a one-trick pony is the easiest way to climb. lots of players have one-tricked their way into challenger or master. kurisuchan only plays talon, for example. boxbox and best riven NA both spam riven. annie bot obviously spams annie.

but what makes or breaks a champion's overall success rate (read: over 50% winrate) in solo queue is their ability to play on their own without relying on the team. i can't say much for roles besides mid or support since i don't play them in ranked much, but i can tell you what i know for picking mids and supports.

for mid laners, pick champs who can escape ganks easily, can roam easily, and can set up ganks easily. being able to clean up teamfights easily is a big plus; helps you get the enemy team to throw in soloQ. Zed, LeBlanc, Annie, Ahri are four really big soloQ mid lane picks. Katarina is pretty volatile (ie she carries or feeds), but if you can put up with some bad games on her, she can carry pretty well.

for supports, i just advise not picking support. really difficult to carry yourself through soloQ with support. if you DO pick support, pick someone with a lot of CC and who roams easily. generally, i don't advise picking peeling or disengage supports in soloQ. pick 420 blaze it swaqq yolo supports. leona, thresh, blitz, nautilus, braum, etc.

and this might sound cliché, but holy shit fucking ward. ward the hell out of everything. just kidding, just ward your flanks. if your team is grouped up somewhere, ward your goddamn flanks. it will literally win you games. most of the time, you don't need to bother warding objectives in soloQ, just ward the fucking flanks. if you can control vision on your flanks in soloQ, your team SHOULD be able to grab free picks and/or teamfights.

finally, be prepared to just brute force a ton of games. sounds boring and terrible, i know. but the fact of the matter is, even really high-ranking players rarely have an overall winrate higher than 65%. the average is something like 55 or 58. so even if you lose, just know that if you keep playing over time, you'll climb. slowly.

as for the enjoyment slowly leaving the game, i agree with you man. this game is becoming more of a sport, and the punishment for not playing by the rules gets harsher every passing season. i've been here since the middle of season 1, and i vividly remember when you could pick and build whatever the fuck you wanted and it would be fun and it would work out. it's really hard to break meta these days, and everyone is super focused on winning and being like the pros. it's a bit disheartening, and i'm quitting the game soon because real-life obligations are calling. happy hunting though mate. maybe someday i'll see TSM Gandalf or something haha

Then don't play ADC? Play mid, play jungle, play top, play whatever.

"Carry Yourself" doesn't mean "Go play Lucian". It means be responsible for your own wins.
