So I might quit...

For the past 2 months or so, 8/10 games I have been losing. 80% of the time, I get at least one idiot on our team that ruins the whole game. Name it what you want, a feeder that goes 0/21 when we have over 75 kills, a troll who just goes out and dies, team members that don't listen and just harass other players, people who disconnect, have lag, or just go afk. It's just not fun anymore, it's just another cause of stress that I really don't need. Besides, Riot's servers have been really laggy, I don't lag on any other game or program except for this one.

I don't know if any of you have ever felt like this, or have similar issues or know of a way to overcome them but if you do then I'll gladly read your posts.

I've been keeping track and between bugs, horribly skewed matchmaking, feeders/trolls (on either team), lag/server/stability issues and the occasional obviously imbalanced gameplay element, the rate of getting a valid game of League of Legends summoner's rift is about 25%. The rest are essentially random.

So, yes.

I try to play with my friends whenever possible. It's only a game, don't get too invested. I made that mistake with Starcraft and now I can't even look at the game due to my hatred for the developers.

Yeah, that's what I decided to do before I played about 2 games today and lost. I was going to limit myself to only playing with friends, I think I am just going to go back to that. It just sucks though that the game has to be like this. I know it's only a game, but it's supposed to be fun, and not stressing.

I don't mind losing, especially if it was a good fight, and I don't mind losing if the other team is just better than we are, but if you have idiots on your team who troll, or don'tknow how to play and go 0/21, that's just not fun.

I know what you mean. Watching that guy walk into the only unwarded place on the map and get picked in a 1v4 can be really frustrating. Watching teammates chase low hp enemies halfway across the map only to run into the rest of the enemy team and die is facepalm worthy. I just try to remember that we're all human and we all do dumb shit or tunnel vision sometimes, and maybe that guy/gal is just having an off day.

But above all else it helps to have a friend in Skype who I can joke with. "And there goes Yasuo into the unwarded jungle again. Maybe if he's lucky he'll kill the enemy support before he goes down in the 1v4!" "It's a good thing Xerath stuck around to poke at the enemy team after we got their inhibitor. He provided just the distraction we needed to throw at baron in the 4v5 when they respawned."

It sucks, trying to trust random people on the internet. That's why I either play bots, 3v3s, Dominion or with friends on SR/ARAM.

Yeah... I can only ever play with a full team of friends, but recently some of them have been busy. If you're going solo in League, it doesn't even matter about skill anymore, screw that, it's about luck. How lucky are you to not get some random retard.

JustMyBassCannon2 votes

That's why you either get a very large friends list, or you play non-Ranked if you have to play PvP without friends. I prefer 3v3s or vs AI if I'm playing solo. Maybe some Dominion.

I don't even play ranked anymore, because it's just terrible there, am going to do team ranked when my friends are high enough level. Thanks for the advice though, I think I am going to adjust to those game modes.

Yep, my friends list....has 130 people I think. Only way I'm sane in SR. =D Feel free to toss me an invite, just don't harass me plz. =P I can help you meet my good people, usually got about 15-40 people on when I am.

Why? If he's losing 8/10 games, it's not other players. The only common factor is himself.

Yup, and it's people like you that I hate playing with and why I have a reason to quit. And no, it really isn't because of me, you don't even play in my matches, so you have no clue about how my games go. You're just another wannabe smart ass who just wants to waste people's time and have nothing better to do other than troll and insult people.

I agree, people like you need to leave the community.

EffectFX3 votes

Deal with it kid. You simply can't accept the fact that the only common factor in your losses is yourself. If you play well (not even carry, just don't feed, keep up in CS, make good decisions, etc) then you will start to win the majority of your games accept for MAYBE the occasional bad luck streak, and you have to be very unlucky for that to happen. Telling you how it is is not trolling, it's being blunt (aka, not sugar coating the problem).

And I don't need to actually see your games to determine that you just aren't a very good player. Especially with Riot's convenient match history system that shows a great deal of detail from the matches. Just looking at your history, you DIE way too much.

A bit of advice. Trade the armor quinces for HP quinces if you're going to play leona a lot. You already get a lot of bonus resists from W and she has naturally low base HP. HP is also outright stronger than resists early game.

Accept the fact that the only way you're going to win is by doing a little introspection and finding your own problems as a player. By knowing what you're bad at you can fix it.

1 variable vs 9 others. I wonder which has a bigger impact.

I was ranked silver 5 for hundreds of games. Dumb dumbs like you always said, "it is because you suck" without having any knowledge of my games. In a single month, I advanced up to gold 5. Now tell me, do you think my skill level increased and entire tier in a single month of average game play? I don't think so. It is a game of luck. Being matched with greater teammates than the other team. Obviously you are a factor in the game. But, if I play the same every game, what determines the outcome? Yup, you got it, the other 9 players!

Trufflshuffl2 votes

this is entirely true. especially now, at the end of the season, the team that wins is the team that manages to troll less than the other.

Nucleophilic atk2 votes

Exactly. I have also had the worst time ever upon reaching gold. This is because everyone in gold 5 knows that they aren't going to get plat, so they just troll around. First time champs, troll things like Ashe support, afks, and every other form of thing you can imagine lol. Yeah, I guess it is my fault that I get a first time top that goes 0/12 and a bot lane with a combined 0/15 score...geeze I suck :/

EffectFX1 votes

The biggest impact is YOURSELF. It is the ONLY factor you have any real control over, and as such should be your only major concern. If you're losing 80% of your games. I GUARANTEE, it's not your team. This is not to say that your team will or won't suck, but if you play well the majority of your games. YOU. WILL. RANK. UP. That is a fact.

It's VERY easy now with the new match history and begin to see where each individual player fucks up. By tricking yourself into thinking it's luck you've already failed at one of the most important things, which is self-improvement.

Nucleophilic atk2 votes

Just because it is the only factor that you can control, does not mean it is the biggest factor. 9>1, it is that simple. And obviously if you're loosing 80% of your games, it is safe to assume that it is you. I really don't think people loosing 80% of their games, however, are the ones complaining about trolls. Also, just because it is luck does not mean you can't improve your own game, not even in the slightest. By playing more games you will improve.

If I am the biggest factor in my games, how was I at a constant 50% win rate in silver 5 for hundreds of games, only to climb up to gold in a month of casual play? Please answer that for me.

EffectFX1 votes

If you play well everygame and there is at least one troll/bad in every game. It has a higher chance of being on the other team

Nucleophilic atk2 votes

You failed to answer the question. And again, if you play well in all your games, then whether you win or lose is determined by the other 9 players' skill.

EffectFX1 votes

I did answer the question.

there's absolutely no logic to this statement.

Really? This is what this forum has turned into? A spam advertising spot now... this never happened on the other forums.

You were apparently not around the older forums often enough. Spam bots like that showed up there, too. Rather frequently posting in every section at the same time.

Maybe not, but when I was there I didn't see anyone it. Oh well.

I would agree but generally one person doesn't screw you over in my experience. It's 2-3 people that screws me over.

If every other player on the other team is doing decently good, and one person on your team is screwing up hard, then it turns into a 4v5, that isn't a fair match up, and it does screw your team over.

You do realize statistically this means you are a terrible player? If LoL is plagued by these issues they should happen equally frequently to the other team. Anyhow a nice screenshot taken from LoLKing of your profile. Notice you did not have more kills than deaths in a single match! Jesus.

Because I main support, jesus, bet you couldn't figure that one out dipshit. Plus you're making a claim over stats that come from 1-3 games, that means nothing. Scroll down to my post I just made about my 20 game statistics sheet. That is REAL stats there.

Everyone has to deal with AFK players, trolls, and feeders... even people in high brackets. People don't get into Plat because they were lucky.

Gandalf0108121 votes

Ok so I didn't bother to read any of this bullshit above, because I can tell just by looking at a few sentences it is ignorant, close minded, and offensive thoughts that have no actual reason to help the situation at hand.

Screw all your statistics, I actually did real statistics myself, and recorded every one of my games for the past 2 weeks on a spreadsheet with my finishing record, and with the win or loss, and possible reasons for loss, and every other team member's record.

I played 20 games in the past 2 weeks. My average K/D/A ratio was 2.6/3.8/18.4. I won 7/20 games. 13 losses, and 4 of those games were losses because it ended up being a 4v5, because one person either disconnected, left the game, rage quitted, or went afk. 3 of those games was lost just because the other team was flat out better then our team. The rest of the 6 losses can be broken down into this:

-2 games where the jungler didn't even know how to jungle, 1 of them was his first time, and the other 1 only ganked middle lane, why I don't even know. -2 of those games were lost because at least one person on our team went 0 kills, and over 10 deaths, with a few assists. -1 of those games was because of a troll that just ran into the enemy base constantly. -1 game was lost because 3 people fought over a lane, and ended up going in the top lane all of them and then dying... and this continued all game.

I played support for all those 20 games, and I had a really good ADC.

3/20 of those games, I lost because the other team was just better, so yes, it could be because of me, because I need to play better. But the other games should have been wins, I shouldn't have had 13 losses, with nearly 80% of them being because of other people.

And those are REAL facts for you, because if you want the spreadsheet in Excel I can give it to you.

And oh, the average K/D/A of my teammates: 7/12/5

I performed way better than my teammates.
