How To Play Rammus?

So I tried playing Rammus on free week once and I really liked him so i bought him. The only problem is that I don't know what to rush first, or ?

And then I don't know how much gold I should have before I go back for the first time because right now I go back at around level 3 and a basically full bar (like one more camp until level 4). I normally have enough to get trailblazer but then a few potions and maybe a ward. I feel like I should be able to purchase boots AND trailblazer. Also I do a full rotation of the camps (apart from raptors) and then back.

What do I max first? What do I max second? I normally max the E and then the W and Q last.

Finally, how do I gank? As in from base. Say I already have my and I just backed. My bot lane wants me to gank them reasonably soon. Most of the time I Q to a nearby bush and then wait for the Q cd. Then I Q and wait and then go in and taunt and so on. Is there an easier way to do this? Can I actually just Q in and do the gank immediately without waiting?

I would like some answers since I really like Rammus! He seems really fun to play if done right, I've even turned some games around with him.

rammus is my favorite champion and honestly is the champion i have the most experience with here is my build path item 3723 item 3047 item 3075 item 3068 item 3143 item 3083 the reason i get the warrior enchantment instead of the cinderhulk is because cinder hulk gives health and the immolate passive i prefer to get a sunfire instead cause it not only gives me health and the passive but it also gives me armor which is great for rammus, this is just preference you can still get the cinder hulk if you want. for boots, boots of mobility are good on rammus but i prefer the ninja tabi for the armor and passive. after jungle item and boots always go for thornmail. as for when to go back i usually go back after i turn level 3 i usually have enough for lvl 1 jungle item and some health pots. for your abilities your gonna want to max W first then E and lastly Q. for ganks Q in then E then W and R. hope i was of some help.

Okay then, thanks for the help! One more question, what build should I go for? I go item 3725 item 3270 item 3075 and then get defensive items depending on the enemy team.

sounds good to me. if they have a lot of AP then get some magic resist item 3102 item 3065 but only after you built your 3 core items. rammus is a pretty basic tank but if you build lots of armor on him you can do a lot of damage due to his passive ( i've gotten a pentakill with him once). so he is kind of like a tank/fighter hybrid, but if you have to build magic resist he mainly just becomes a tank. if you ever get really good with him try building him with AP just for fun, his ult and Q will do a lot of damage.

I do normally play Rammus as a tank but if I'm getting loads of assists then I go for a item 3001 or a item 3151 depending on the enemy team. Most of the time I go for the Abyssal Scepter and I haven't actually tried Liandry's on him yet. The thing is I don't know when to get these items, after my build or after my core? And which one is better, Abyssal or Liandry's?

If they have any magic damage, I usually go for a item 3512 or item 3026 because they give MR and armor. if they have a lot of magic damage, then yeah go with the banshee's veil.

please ignore the build he gave you. You should be rushing item 3751 into item 3117 then finishing into item 3725 . After that just remember you're a tank, what you build should reflect what damage you need to be countering on the enemy team. Also don't forget that even though you're rammus building armor vs a full ap team doesn't do much.

Yeah, I sort of know that I build MR against a full AP team. But before I didn't know what to rush first, jungle item or boots? Now I know thanks to you!
