"It's only normals so I won't report him"

So a couple games ago I was playing Elise jungle and we had a Riven top. We were doing pretty well early, got a double kill bot and a few kills mid, but as I was farming my jungle and going back our Riven died 2 times to their Riven without a kill and said "time to jungle now" and started taking all of my jungle and not ganking anyone. I had to go top to make sure their Riven didn't go out of control pushing top and farming but I was a bit overconfident and died to her twice as well.

At this point everyone on our team was flaming our Riven for saying "screw top I'm jungle because Elise hasn't ganked me yet" and basically kicking me top and flaming me for not ganking her in like 8 min. After the game we asked the enemy team to report our Riven for trolling the team and their Warwick said this: "It's only normals so I won't report him".

There are so many things wrong with this, so if I can't control dragon or gank lanes to help them snowball all because one person decided to go jungle because they lost their lane, it's fine because it's normals? I'm pretty sure if you had the same teammate do the same thing to you, you would want everyone to report him as well. BUT WAIT, it's only normals so it's perfectly fine for someone to screw the entire team over and force you somewhere else.

The worst thing was that it was teambuilder, I chose jungle because I felt like ganking people and making lanes snowball and carry the game. Not for a random top laner who CHOSE to go top to just go jungle bacuse 'I didn't gank their lane quickly enough'. When I play top I sort of expect our jungler to not gank me too often because if the enemy jungler has any sort of sense he would gank bot and take dragon if it's up. And when I play top and I'm losing my lane I play safe and build defensively. I don't give up when I die 2 times to the enemy laner and say 'fuck this I'm jungle' and not gank anyone and fail taking red buff (it was pretty funny watching our Riven try to take red though). I try to play safe and be more tanky and change my build.

Sorry, I had to take this off my chest since I'm pretty mad that:

  1. in teambuilder someone just went jungle after losing lane and
  2. the enemy team didn't report Riven because 'it's only normals'. I'm sorry if I don't want to play ranked yet, I like trying to win and not having trolls on my team.

This attitude of 'it's not ranked, why try' seriously needs to stop.

If that's the case, why are you even playing normals. If ranked is down, close LoL. If you're not going to put effort into playing, the rest of us don't want you.

I also don't like the mentality of not reporting on normals because "why we should take it serious?". Well, we should, the player who is toxic on normals may be toxic on ranked. Reporting toxic players in normals = meeting less players like that in ranked.

Statistically, Riven mains are twice as likely to be toxic and to afk (no offense, nontoxic Rivens).

Holy cow i probably would have raged quit after that..PROBABLY because i have had countless instances of this happening to me as well and its one of the reasons i have only been playing bots for the past few games.

Was playing sup and we were losing badly and were 20mins in and my team was complaining about how bad we were losing and i noticed that (from the start) 99% of their deaths were from them getting 2v1 ganked all day..with no wards so i go "guys please upgr your trinkets and place wards, i noticed you guys keep getting ganked, ofc you're going to keep dying" their response?

"wards don't do dmg" "wards = supports job" "don't be a tryhard sona its only normals, nobody uses wards in normals." I Sweeped and killed about 3 wards every time my lense came off CD in that game when in games before this one i would go straight for a stealth totem...i fking tabbed to find that 3 of them had item 3361 and their bard supp had a item 3341 and a item 2045 .. ffs.

Another game where i did my usual thing and keeping a pink in the bottom enemy jg before minion spawn

3 fall back pings from an angry team mate later Team Mate 1 "ffs sup wtf are you doing? trying to give first blood??" Me: "giving us vision ahead of time" Team Mate 1 "no sht stay near me!, its normals who uses wards in the jg?????" Me:"people who want to be winners" Team Mate 1 "take that sht to rank then."

*That pink allowed me to keep ganks away....from myself because my team didn't want to listen to my pings because who pings more than 2 times in under 5sec in normals?..

Picked Teemo supp in Normals, because its only normals rite?(I DID NOT DO THIS TO TROLL , I just play ALOT of teemo and wanted to try him as supp)

Before the game started in the lobby "Teemo sup? who cares about the META rite?" "idc its normals" less than 10min in and top and mid lost their lanes HORRIBLY and now bot is about to lose theirs

After my adc got caught by the nami bubble for the upteenth time "Who the fk plays teemo supp" "Why are you mad at me? you keep diving and face tanking the bubbles.." "Our sup sux soo bad, this is gg" "He choose a piece of paper to supp for me..because that's what teemo is...papper" (Any supp that's not a born tank like Leona or nautilus etc is papper son)

TLDR;

These dudes lost their lanes before the 10min mark, the adc blames me for picking teemo sup when he just said "idc its normals" before the game started people are so quick to use the "its normals" when it doesn't bother them but when it does impede on their game its "Go back to bots or uninstall".

I Have had mabey ONE normal game where we were losing and everyone was like "Hey guys we did our best, at least now i can sleep earlier" "meh its normals, we tried and ur jg afk'ed" "

Normals are less "important" than Ranked, and Co-ops are less "important" than Normals. My threshold for reporting someone goes up in some ways and down in others when a game is less "important". I'm less likely to report someone for being unskilled if they're playing badly in Normals, and certainly not in a Co-op. But I'm less tolerant of toxicity in games that have less meaning. If you can't be a decent human being in a Co-op game, where absolutely nothing is on the line, you just need a lengthy time out from the game.

I have a problem any time the other team asks me to report someone on their team. If someone on the other team is clearly feeding, I can see that, and I don't need to be asked or told to report them. If someone on the other team is supposedly being toxic in team chat, I'm not going to just take your word for it and report them. If someone on the other team is being toxic in /all chat, I can see that, and I don't need to be asked or told to report them.

People do not get reported because they're bad or making different decisions, and they don't receive any punishment for that if they do. But you can report him of his toxic comments and bad attitude.

Whether the enemy team helps or not doesn't matter, your report is still valid.

The reports are mostly handled if they're accurate.

i feel that a lot of tops are complaining about lack of ganks lately. they often don't give the junglers time or opportunity before raging.

Everytime YOU get a troll/afk. Enemies: "nah man don't report just a normals, you guys would've lost anyways" Or some douchey thing like: "gg ez, you guys suck easy game etc" or complimenting you everytime you die and BM sht.

Everytime enemies get a troll/afk: Someone on your team: "We really don't care at all" Them: "OMG YOU ARE TOXIC AJKDSHGKJDHGKJHSD"

So the troll/afks in normals get away scott free and anyone who disagrees with anything is punished. Seems legit rito.

Seriously tho, I got a warning for verbal abuse because I was playing "cancer devourer's jax"

I hear that sometimes you get these bad players who play recklessly and continue to make bad plays...I call it the blame game. They either blame jg if they are mid/top or if it's an adc they blame the support.

Being the support is one of the most thankless role there is IMHO....Most don't realize that if they actually communicated with each other they'd have a better game....

It is truly a shame that so many people feel entitled to rage at others and to play for themselves instead of playing this game properly...a Team Game :) But you know what, if you keep a positive outlook and try to learn even when losing you will find that you will excel quicker then the people who complain all game...Hey I wish you happy playing in the future :)

I up-voted you when you 1st put this thread up because I hear ya and feel your pain. So many good posts on here of why it isn't always the junglers fault..my favorites are not warding and expecting an immediate gang No matter what else is going on...

I don't want to be a downer here, just caution those who are reading this that Riot's stance on asking for reports is next to toxic...I have posted Lytes comments about such and don't wish to go looking again but I just wish to convey to you that asking anyone to report anyone else could get you in trouble. ;)

I'll take a moment more to add that lately I feel as if I (and more people) should be hitting that report button more often...The one's who abuse it will be found out by Riot and those reports will mean little to nothing..but if people really want change about bullies, bigots, asshats, jerks what have you, the only way for Riot to start to do something is to know when it happens.

The only times I say it's only normals why report is when some goes afk because something irl comes up or wants to go and do a 5 ma jg for lols. In this case I would definitely report though since she is not doing it because she thinks is fun and her team mates give no fucks. She's doing it to be a complete ass and blaming her jg of her lack of skill.

Yep that's pretty much team builder jungle for you. I used to main jungle in team builder because of the really low queue time, but I realized every game, no matter how many times I ganked, I got the blame if we lost. I've heard every insult from "do us all a favor and hang yourself" from a four man premade support, to "I hope you get cancer for never ganking me" from every Riven and Vayne ever. I actually have to admit, people in ranked are much nicer than the people with the team builder jungler.

Eh, if someone wants to not take normals so seriously and just have fun, that's a healthy attitude.

Remember, it's just a video game meant to be played for fun, if you're not having fun don't play.

You know, I believed that al because it is normals, does not justify not reporting someone for negative behavior. Personally, I have been only playing with friends lately to avoid trolls/ragers/flamers/etc. I specifically do not like the ragers who will assault you for dying twice during laning phase, or will rage at you when they die and you backed off because it was a 2v4 and you were low health. I take feedback more personally and use it to improve my game playing, but when all I hear is raging on how "i suck" or "why u no engage scrub?" or other crap like that, I really get discouraged from playing the game. I can't help it, I just take feedback personally (wish I didn't). I remember I was playing a game as pre-rework GP against pre-rework Fiora. I could not do any damage to her as she would turn it against me with the parry. She tower-dived me twice before the 7 min. mark. I killed her the 2 times that she did, but after that I could not, and she repeatedly tower-dived me and I could do nothing to her (all of GP's Damage then was considered AA excluding ult, so I was screwed by parry and her amount of burst, not even item 3047 could save me). My jg began to rage at me (who did not come top before 10 min mark or 12 min mark either) and then proceeds to go top uncoordinated and Fiora got a double kill. The then rages even more, saying "wow, u suck. you are garbage." I told him I just recently began playing him (have played only 3 real games and 5 or so bot games at the time), and he proceeds to say, "You should have learned how champ works before playing. You suck, you are garbage..." and all of the typical crap. I tried explaining to him that I could do nothing to her, but he continued to rage and said how I cost us the game and on and on and on... needless to say, that was a horrible experience, and that has led me to mostly quit playing with randoms (BTW, this was normals, not ranked). I was as polite as possible, did not insult or complain, but he still raged. This is why people should report others, as a rager/feeder/intentional afk/ troll/etc. can really ruin the purpose of the game, to have fun and do your best. I am not against people goofing off sometimes if the have permission from their team mates and they do not mind, but to intentionally screw someone over needs to stop.

P.S. the fiora began to proxy, which caused my jg to rage even more and make me feel even more like crap... it was BAD

As a jungle main (tank Vi and Jax +Sated), I feel how you do. I almost exclusively play team builder because the only other role I am good at is top. When I jungle, I like to do a full clear first, then take scuttles, then gank a lane. Usually this is top or mid, because I start bot side. If I can't gank, I will look to counter jungle before going to gank again. If this is the case, my first gank will be around 6:00. Most of the time, I won't get a kill on the gank, but just burn flash. After a few ganks, my first back should complete my jungle item. Then, I head for dragon. This is where trouble starts. While I do dragon, my toplaner seems to ALWAYS get ganked. They will flame me for not being there to counter-gank, and all I can do is stutter. Then I continue to farm and gank botside, and my toplaner dies again. "GG top is lost" /all "Report jg never ganks me"

I also don't play ranked. I've been playing since the Vel'Koz patch, but I don't feel I'm quite good enough to carry every match in ranked yet. I refuse to play ranked until I hit ~2000 mmr in normals and can still carry (my peak is ~1700 mmr according to op.gg). As someone that almost only plays Team Builder, I understand that frustration. Not reporting someone that isn't trying or trolling or something just because it's a normal game is stupid. There are lots of people that strictly play normals like myself, there are also lots of people that play normal games to learn new champions or roles or practice things, etc. If you want to screw around, find a custom match that's all about screwing around. As for those people that say they aren't trying... Most of the people that claim to be "not trying" are actually just frustrated that they're doing poorly. The people that are truly just trying to have fun aren't throwing, they aren't feeding, they simply aren't playing the best they could while doing stupid/flashy/risky plays, and they certainly don't say "I'm not trying, it's just norms" each time they die.

Same thing happened to me, though i was just two people ganging up on me and verbally abusing me. I started the game off 0/1/4 as alistar but because my draven was doing very poorly and making many mistakes and bad decisions, the draven and quinn flamed me for feeding, called me faggot and stuff. the worst part though, the other two player on the team just ignored the whole thing and let them flame me all game.

In normals?

Did your laner feed by accident? Not a reportable offense.

Did your jungler never gank? Not a reportable offense.

Did your fellow laners never roam? Not a reportable offense.

Did your fellow laners lose lane and feed a few kills while you won and got fed a few kills? Can't report the others for losing lane, if it weren't them it may have been you. May have been you either way.

Did your laner steal your jungle farm and never go to lane, or possibly your jungle steal your lane farm and never go to jungle? Yes, that's reportable.

Was a teammate toxic? Reportable.

Did a teammate intentionally feed, and you knew it was intentional, maybe he/she even admitted it? Reportable.

Gotta know what's reportable in norms and what's not. This case was most definitely reportable.

I gank on rotation and don't waste time when people complain I simply say hey don't push lane when u want a gank(this happens so much lately I end up having to counter jungle or afk farm my own til people back).

  1. the thing I get the most though is my gank failed because we didn't get the kill but his flash is gone and I relieved the oppressive pressure on my usually mid laner but it's still a fail(very rarely do We not get kill in top because top laners ahead just push so hard with no wards) I've concluded no matter the mistakes you make no matter how much you carry no matter how badass you are people will bitch about you because "you are not I" and to them "I is so much better and more important than you"
