Supporting, as anyone but a support without becoming a kill lane

ok to start off I'd like to say I do not favor the meta, Beta, or any "standard" lane arrangement. now onward if your looking to play your fav champ as support, by all means go right ahead, youll catch flak for it but don't worry you'll get used to it. lets say your team has a Caitlin adc , a tank jungle, and a mage/ support mid, you want to play support but you don't want to "be" support, well you have a few options, first you can play a normal support and just be aggressive, secondly you could play a champ you know really well and see how that goes, or you can play someone who will make the enemy question who is in what lane, currently I play malzahar support, yes I get kills, any non-standard support will most likely get kills but fret not if you time your attacks and use your spells and abilities wisely you wont have the adc rageing at you. now depending on how you normally play you will almost always be starting with the spell thief's edge, unless your melee and don't want to last hit then youll get the coin. use the build you would normally for that champ. Do not I repeat Do not buy a sightstone. they just buffed the greater warding trinket so if your team has half a brain you can get ten wards out easy and a sightstone is useless if you cant get out of your base to place the wards in the first place. now depending on what role you take "tank, mage, assassin" your adc will not need to adapt much as many champs have stuns or some form of cc that any adc worth their salt can easily turn into a kill or use to escape if things go bad. but remember your the support you are there to make sure your adc doesn't die (take heal or clarity) im open to any additional information that would make it easy for someone to play non-standard supports and have fun doing it so please don't be obviously mean or hateful in your comments

Ahri - usually only if I have an ADC that can capatilize on when I land a charm but also has a good escape. We just become super safe poke lane and turn it into an all in on our own terms P:

Cassiopeia - Super easy to stack, make sure I pick up an early tear and just keep harrassing with Q+E or W+E's

Malzahar - once I hit level 6 the enemy team can't ever leave the ADC alone down there or he is dead and we likely take their tower XD

It's not worth the harassment you will regularly get, imo. I would just play mid/top; at least in Ranked.

Veigar support is interesting as is Karthus.

the benefit of sighstone is you can reposition all your wards as you go along, with upgraded trinket yes you can put wards down but only if they happen to be up and only a max of two...

Malz support ain't the best because either you run out of mana fast or you push the lane/steal creeps too fast. You sacrifice alot from between level 1-6 and if you don't get fed enough, most supports can cancel your ult.

I agree that you can play almost any champion support, but telling people to not buy sight stone is a huge nono. I don't care if you go nid, leblanc, lux, volibear, cho, etc support . I odn't even mind too much if you take all the kills but atleast buy a sightstone, thats all i ask (well...and use it too).
