So you want to get out of bronze as a support?

In diff E.Q. Bored out of my mind so I thought I would give some love to my following supports that would like to hear how another got to where he is(b2-p5 last season). So here we go.

Bronze 2-1: This was actually the easiest to get out of. After playing 50 or so games of normal champs(thresh,Leo,sonna, etc.) I realized that my adc and I were not the problem but our lack of ap damage was killing us. Most of the time our midlaner was outmatched and mid game would lack the damage needed to win a game. So how do you beat this?

Solution: With lack of so I took it upon myself to fill that gap. Playing champs (Annie, xerath, velkoz) that has great poke, cc, and damage was the key. For long range mages buy spellthiefs and continually poke every time you have a stack. My first item buys were as follow... Annie= pure ap damage, blasting wand or needless. Xerath= mana regen for continuos poke so I would buy a chalice. Velkoz= overtime damage and Magic pen, I would build haunting or morel now with him.

Goal: poke out the adc every chance you get to the point where your almost ignoring the support. If their sup is a squishy then you can almost two shot them on first back. Your here to keep their adc out of lane, by poke or killing, while getting your ap as well. Late game you will be a threat and at this level it creates confusion on who to focus for the other team.

Silver: this is where you should be getting more familiar with more common supports but not just picking the one your best with. Yes blitzcrank is fun but he offers no late game potential compared to other supports. Your adc is a little more confident in his play at this elo along with your other lanes. Never try and blame the jungles if you lose your lane against your opponent. It's not his job to babysit you.

Solution: First focus on there comp, are they have damage with a lot of five potential? Pick peal champs like nami or Janna. Are they more tanky with a backline comp(aka xerath, cair, corki, ori, etc..) pick thresh or Leo to get in there face. You want to cc and disrupt their adc or apc for as long as possible. The more they focus you the more your apc and adc can do. IF your going for peel team comp make sure to buy the correct items for it. A deathcap on Janna is not going to help as much as meik or talisman. Give everything to your adc, your life, your soul, your heart. Keep him alive because your not there to do damage.

Goal: Passive: keep your adc and apc alive as long as possible with items that give them health, disable roots, and gives them move speed. They longer they live the better chance you have to win. Aggressive: build that tanky support and get in the adc face. If she is hitting your apc or adc while their tanks are in the adc face as well then your going to lose. Your a wall.

ALSO: Here you should be buying relic shield and last hitting mainly the cannons. Learn how to do this religiously or your going to start a flame war with your adc. Every bit of gold counts so don't waste opertunities.

Gold 5-1: Ar this elo you need to be confident with 5-7 support champs and already know all the above. What makes it different here is the team objectives and vision. You are the ward mule in most games, 98% all of them, so it solely on you to make sure that your team has proper vision at all times.

Solution: make sure you are warding to your teams needs. Meaning if your t1 towers are taken and your being pushed up on then there is no reason to waste your wards on the entrance to their jungle but instead yours. Your already starving for farm and knowing that your jungle is safe to CS in is a major factor so keep it bright. Red trinket and oracle as much as you can to deny vision to there team. If your jungle is warded up and they see your jungled not they can make a move towards upper towers or baron. No vision makes them think twice about it. OBJECTIVES: with the new patch dragon is important along with baron, since it has less health and damage now, to where the scuttle and wards should be prioritized mid game for these objectives. I can't count how many times we won because of a baron through on their side. Just keep it warded.

Conclusion: if you got through all that then your the real mvp, this is what I did to get from b2-p5 in one season. There is no such thing as elo hell!! Every division is hell since they all contain, feeders, afks, trolls, etc.. Getting past it and trying to keep your team together is the smartest move you can make.well class is over so if I forgot something simple don't be to harsh lol hope this was entertains to some.

This is a great post.

I really did assume that the way to carry bronze as a supp would be lock in the tanky utility supps (Leo, Blitz, Thresh) and make the plays. Gonna try annie supp in normals and see how this goes, literally haven't tried that since 2014. The mindset is the most interesting thing, acting like a second mid laner and dealing damage, but changing your approach as you move up the rankings.
