Thoughts on Liandry's for Shyvana?

So my last game ended up having a fair few stalemates in terms of sieging as we had Alistair and Garen, with only Ahri really giving us poke. This prompted me to buy Liandry's as Shyvana in order to augment my poking power with E.

Then it got me wondering if Liandry's could be an optimal item on Shyvana. Bear with me:

Increased Burnout effect, now chips % hp Increased Flame Breath damage, both from AP and hp chipping Increased Dragon's Descent damage, again from AP and hp chipping Increased overall magic damage from the magic penetration, which has synergy with devourer and Flame Breath's % max hp damage on hit.

Anyone have thoughts on the viability of getting Liandry's on Shyvana?

Liandry's Torment isn't really that great an item for Shyvana, though it isn't exactly bad either. If you spent a lot of time poking it may have been alright, but no one on their team was stacking health and Shyvana doesn't really make good use of AP.

I believe that a Wit's End is a better item for damage on Shyvana than Liandry's Torment because of how much synergy it has with her kit (on-hit applied twice with Q, attack speed for more Qs and E mark, MR, MR reduction for abilities).

I used to play a lot of Shyvana and considered buying it on many occasions, but never actually did. You're right, it does give you a lot of useful stats and she can utilize the %HP damage very effectively.

...but you have to think about what's most effective. You described a chase comp, so it might be more effective to split push or just dive them under tower. If you had a poke comp, you should might want to go for defensive stats and auras so that you can disengage for your team.

Definitely viable, but you can probably fulfill your role more successfully through other items.
