How do I stop teammates from throwing in ranked?

I first started the game in September, but only recently started bothering with ranked matches. The placements I think were complete bullshit and totally reliant on luck of the draw. I never once had a single balanced match up. In my losses, every single member of my team was 0/3 and losing towers by the time I we were lvl 6, and my 2/0 score was really not enough to roam and turn the tides.

Even my winning matches were completely sad with the it being the reverse, where everyone on my team is 3/0 by the time we hit lvl 6, and I even got to watch as the one decent member on the enemy team goes from positive to negative due to having no team to work with.

After the placements I ended up making silver 5 and now the matches feel a LOT more balanced. The problem however is that I have played 4 matches, and while the first one went quite smoothly; the latter 3 were all lost. Except in this case, it wasn't because the matches were unbalanced or that I had shitty teammates or that I was having any trouble carrying. In fact it was the opposite, I managed to fully stack mejai soulstealer in 2 of those matches and got pretty close in 1 of them. Overall we were completely dominating. The problem however, was that my teammates seemed to either not know how or out right refused to finish the matches when we had the chance; and at some point 1 of my teammates would make a stupid mistake that would cost us the match...

A quick rundown of what happened in each match:

Match 1) For the first match I lost, we had a fairly rough start. We kept wiping in the team matches. However, I bought mejai's soulstealer so everyone would die but me, but I would still get away with 3 assists. Once I had a fully stacked Mejai all I had to do was ult and we would win the teamfights. We had no issues completely tearing the enemy team apart. However, instead of pushing our wukong kept trying to stop us and make us do baron even though we didn't need it. Not only did we not need it, but our teamcomp was mainly made up of tanks with me being the main source of damage. As AP ezreal, I can't hit baron with my W so there was no way for us to kill baron in a timely fashion and we kept getting interrupted and having to retreat.

We finally got a good push, broke two inhibs and wiped out 3 members of their team in the process. However, instead of keeping up pressure my team randomly decides they want to retreat. Why would we retreat? It's because wukong once again wanted to do baron... Of course, we couldn't kill baron faster than the enemy team re-spawned, so we had to stop it and retreat.

After that, we couldn't push because our ADC said she was having some connection issues and wanted to restart the clinet. She leaves, and already our Blitzcrank starts trying to do surrender votes. She reconnects, but the dragon spawns and the enemy team starts trying to do it. At this point we have a bit of a failure to communicate. We go stop the baron, but our team sort of split in half on both sides of the dragon instead of all approaching from one side (with me and the two tanks on one side, and wukong + ADC going the other side, and Wukong engaged --- don't ask why). They went down too fast for us to do anything, and we ended up team wiping.

So we respawn and repel the enemy. Our adc says she is still having some lag issues and needs to reconnect. Already our blitzcrank gets impatient. It's not even 2 minutes since she left when he randomly walks right into the center of the enemy team by himself for no reason whatsoever; gets himself killed, they do a final push; and it's over. He outright said, he did because he was bored.

The second match, our loss was fairly simple. I wanted to take clairvoyance (because my teams always get caught without it), and everyone called me a troll. I would have kept it anyways, but Ash pointed out that her E is a built in Clairvoyance so I said fuck it and chose to rely on her E. Of course she barely uses the thing, and the enemy Leblanc roams and recks everyone.

Our Lee Sin fell off, and our Chogath wasn't tanky enough and kept trying to splitpush and would get caught out. Overall the enemy just had a better teamcomp, so while we had a strong start we lost dominance in mid game.

The third match is another one where we really had no excuse for losing. We did extremely well. I completeled a full 20 stack mejais really quickly. We were winning all the team fights. However, our Ash just kept bitching and bitching and bitching about how everyone on the team were noobs and trolls. Her score was okay, but she seemed to think that because she split push and took towers while we were fighitng that she was some super player. We manage to break all of the enemy inhibs, but it became clear that if we wanted to end it; we needed to group up and do one huge push.

Ash would not group up. At all. She kept split pushing, so we would lose team fights that could have easily been won. Actually we probably could have won the teamfights without her if Garen would stop breaking formation to chase for kills and letting the rest of the team get recked with no tank; but really if she were with us Me, Lux, and her ult would instantly delete 1 person and cripple the rest of the enemy team; so it wouldn't have mattered if he chased (we kept telling him to stop chasing but he wouldn't listen).

We decide to do baron, we kill it real fast. We start retreating, and Garen decides to chase for a kill and get himself and 1 other member of our team killed... -_-

Then, once again Ash does not group up with us and instead split pushes, so they manage to stall out our baron buff because wouldn't just group up and kill them all. We get pushed on the defense, Ash again decides to split push; garen chases for a kill; and we team wipe and they win.

My only advice? Pretend normal games are Ranked. It seems there are more trolls and idiots in Ranked than norm.

Four games is not a very large sample size.

Best you can do is call shots and try to herd the team into the same direction. If people won't go with it, don't freak out, just work with what they're doing as best you can. Like you said Ashe kept split pushing in one game, even once inhibs were down -- why didn't you all just go to her lane and push?

I wanted to take clairvoyance (because my teams always get caught without it), and everyone called me a troll.

If you want that effect bad enough, two words: blue trinket.

Also, Mejai's is generally not a good idea unless you're REALLY sure you can snowball like crazy. People will focus you down, or just play safe against you, and if you lose a teamfight in late game it's a huge hit.

Play an initiator and tell your team to wait For you to initiate team fights...initiators control the pace...

Make them laugh. Be likable. Say constructive things. Don't dwell on their mistakes. Ping objectives. Remind team of timers. Warn of dangers. Congratulate them when they do good things to help the team.
