As an ad tank toplaner, how do you build against Vladimir

Hi everyone

I just play a game toplane with Sion and, even if I bully him early game, I didn't manage to handle him mid to late game.

As Sion, I usually adapt my build if I go against Tank/mage or bruiser but, against vlad, even with magic resist, I couldn't win trade past level 11.

As a mage, I would have build Morello to make him blead and not heal too much but, I don't think there is an item like that for tanky/ad champion.

So my question is, how do you build against that guy to still handle him late game? (it was in blind pick so, unfortunatelly, I didn't take ignite to react :s)

Hexdrinker would be a good item since you will benefit from the magic resist and the magic shield.

Idk why os many people are so hellbent on trading if II either cant trade or dont give a fk cuz thery're so insignificant... I just dont trade lol you know how people die and feed? cuz they fked up in a trade thats not favorable to them and they dont stop trying

just get blue hoodie and you should be okay for the laning phase

You should be able to react to your lane by picking certain items earlier and avoiding trades - no matter what you do, he's going to outsustain you as soon as he gets a item 3152 which will only get worse with item 3065.

Harass with E, wait for ganks.

You're fully capable of either pushing into his turret forever or freezing lane just outside of your turret range, take advantage of that.

Unless he gets ahead, you dominate the lane until level 9. It's like asking how to beat Vayne as Garen when realistcally you shouldn't. As a tank you will lose to vlad once he gets rolling and there is nothing you can do about it.

Like they said Hexdrinker. But since you are Sion, bullying is not enough, you have to crush him. Vlad is a frickn god mid and late game, so stall his power spike for as long as possible. Another worthy buy is QSS, it removes his ult

I had a lane against Vlad once and for shits and giggles I built Morellonomicon first as Sion. Turns out the healing reduction makes him outright HATE you.

Vlad's primarily a teamfight monster; if he's still in lane post-9, then he's either catching up on farm or just hasn't thought to group with his team yet.

His early game is where you need to set him back the most. If you can bully him out of cs/experience, as you say you have, you've done everything you could at that point. The key to beating a Vlad early is to set his progress back as much as possible so you can impact the mid-lategame before he can. Think Nasus, but slightly safer to leave alone.

Once fights start to break out, you could actually afford to group with your team. If Vlad doesn't do the same, he's either farming or flat-out splitpushing, either of which could benefit you. Though Vlad clears fast, he's weak at wearing down structures, allowing your team to take a 5v4 and force objectives much faster than he can.

If he does join the fray (naturally or through a tp), remember that he has little CC and is very easily kited. Make sure your teams doesn't stack so his ultimate can't affect all of you. Aside from that, its all about how your team deals with him. Having an AP mid with Morello or an adc with bork should help deal with his lasting power.

Vladimir is the best at lots of short trading. Specte's Cowl and/or Hexdrinker should be enough to pretty much ignore his burst early game. But really it is a play-style thing. You have to either kill him in a burst(hard as most tanks, but Sion could probably do it with one damage item) or just ignore him and quit trying to trade against a champion that is better at trades than yours. Level 11 shouldn't you be making across the map plays with your ult and TP? Stop trying to 1v1 Vlad and go help the team.
