How to maintain cs in the midgame.

I play a lot of ADC; I usually come out of lane ahead, get bot tower, and then rotate mid. In the course of the midgame, I have trouble keeping my cs up while still trying to group with my team for towers and dragon. If I go off to splitpush a few waves, my team fights without me, and if i group, the enemy keeps pushing out waves.

Any tips for maintaining cs after the end of lanes?

I actually have the same problem. I main mid and have a steady 140ish cs at 20 Mins but usually only 200 by 30 mins meaning that my cs rate dropps a lot due to trying to support my team and I'm looking for opportunities to balance this out.

farm anything and everything that's around and sometimes leaving the team is ok depending on the situation. if people are just walking around wasting time then leave them and farm. if they are fighting and you are with them, then you are too busy to farm and your cs will slow down for a bit and you can farm afterwards. if the other laner is staying in lane and you were winning lane, join him and control him. if your team needs more help and are falling more behind, join them and make the other laner go to you or lose some objectives like baron or some other towers.

remember that objectives gives gold also so if you are taking towers, don't worry about your cs too much. the main thing to keep in mind is don't waste time. you should always be doing something.

What I like to do is stay near the lanes but farm out the jungle camps unless im playing support where cs doesn't matter as much. that way I can be there if my team needs me but also be doing something. you always want to keep your lanes from getting pushed in so if the enemy lanes start piling up go farm. Especially in season 5 where winions are going to be a bigger part of the game with the new buffs, so always keep them at least in the halfway mark, if youre playing adc and your team engages wiothout you, well one they are dumb, two all you can do is run, thats why having mobility is more crucial in lower elo, I run mobi's any time I am mid or adc, it doesn't help me individually but I can always run to the team fights in time to save the day usually when my team does things like that. I haven't tried swiftness boots out but Im sure their similar and may be better in teamfights. end game you can always switch out for different boots or a 6th damage item. but I like bursty roaming kinda peeps too though.
