Need Riven help and advice!

Riven is my favorite. I really would like to use her to climb the ladder, but I feel stuck.

I actually am starting to lose hope on being able to climb with her. Playing a melee carry in this game with the kinds of teammates that are common on the ladder feels like such a handicap. Especially when my one and only cc puts me in danger. I feel like I have to main mid or adc to even have a hope of climbing right now. I feel like my teammates always feed. Even when I try and roam to help them it just deflates any pressure we have as a team. I wouldn't mind top lane if I didn't have such a small impact on the game. It's so frustrating, I actually would prefer to play another role but my favorite champions are all stuck up top...

That said in specifics to riven, I am really struggling to master this "quick 'q' combo". I feel like I can never do it right when I am trading, but if I don't do it I feel like riven just trades too slowly. Riven's animations are somewhat nice, but for the speed you need to execute them its just feels clunky and wonky. It makes me feel like I have input lag. I wish they would smooth out the way her Auto attacks interact with her spells. It just feels so slow sometimes. Even when I am trying to use combos and animation canceling. I feel like I spend more time trying to make sure I am executing them and positioning than doing damage and then at that point the other player who is playing a champion much easier just auto attacks me and wins....

Idk I need help, but I hate it because I never feel like I can organize my ideas properly, especially since I come looking for help after I'm frustrated and just lost. I've been trying to practice in normals lately, but I am on a 9 game losing streak at the moment.

Riven is my favorite, but I just feel like I can't "carry" any games. I can't pick anyone off unless I sit in a bush for like 5 mins. I always feel like my team is being out warded and out played. Always. I can't ever push or win my lane hard because the jungler always comes up, but my jungler never comes up...If I initiate I die. So I have to wait around for my teams horrid initiation. If I split push it's always 1v2 or more because my team has zero pressure because they are not threatening at all. The jungler doesn't have to worry about them. If I decide to try and roam, my teammates never seem to be able to accept my roam well. My mid laner like doesn't know what's happening. Idk...it's so fucking frustrating.

I honestly hate top lane sometimes. I wish Riven wasn't my favorite because it's like a personal goal for me to climb to diamond or so with her but I feel like I honestly can't do it. Like as a melee carry I feel so handicapped. Do I really have to become an ADC or Mid laner if I want to climb? I have this feeling that "any lane can climb" is kind of bullshit.
