Which Melee Carry/Tank Pair should I main?

EbonRypper··1 votes·936 views

Guys I have thought about it and I'm wondering since I do best with melee champs, which pairing should I go with to main?

Irelia + MasterYi
Nasus + Riven Hecarim + Akali

Or Mordekaiser + Katarina ?

if those are what you want nasus and riven, ones really early game and ones super late game.

Yeah plus the new Black Cleaver makes CDR builds with both champs easy and awesome. Yeah I'm going Nasus+ Riven, plus I have the most experience from the two.

none of these, go Zed Maokai

No thanks I don't like Zed , and I never touched Maokai . Both cost far more RP and IP too.

Yasuo Zac

Ehh... they cost too much imo, and take too long to grind for. Over 12K IP which by then I can have another rune page, or another good champ like Leona who I can main for Support Bot.

Judging from the votes I'm definitely going Nasus + Riven then.

Are you low elo? If so tryTryndamere In low elo headlights I have found he often functions as both.

what criteria made you chose exactly those pairs? why cant it be yi + riven or nasus + katarina? you seem to be pretty random when it comes to chosing champions. also, none of the champions in each pair have anything in common except maybe their damage type or so. whats your motivation?

Apparently reading the title isn't clear enough for you. The pairing consists of ONE TANK and ONE MELEE CARRY in a pair. I'm pairing up a tank for top/jungle maining and a Carry for some occasional jungle/top with mostly mid laning in mind. That's my motivation. Picking two champs for different roles. Shouldn't even have to explain this as it's self explanatory.

well, irelia/master yi has no tank and mordekaiser/katarina has no tank either, absolutely no consistency.

also, your second pair is kinda weak at jungling while your fourth pair cant even jungle at all. but since you are asking really weird and badly phrased questions and are pretty unfriendly on top of that, i guess i just dont give a damn about you anymore ;D

Irelia Irelia only uses item 3078 for damage and then builds full on tank after that. Apparently you don't play with the champs I asked about besides Riven or Yi or Hecarim if even them.

I wouldn't want to waste anymore time explaining myself to a knob like you anyway as you don't understand nor seem to want to, and Mordekaiser DOES actually have tanking and JG prowess, but of course you probably don't play him much though so I won't bother explaining there.

Besides you're not Prince Charming anyway, not with how you question the point of my post. I hope you don't even reply anymore to be honest as I had found you rude the moment you posted.

MasterYi Hecarim is the best combination. Both move incredibly fast, both are terrifying when fed, and both have huge outplay potentials.

Yeah Hecarim and Yi are very strong as of now. I can definitely make use of them in JG/Mid/Top.

yep, I use them to climb, and if I stopped DCing and got better at late game decisions, I'd probably have climbed way faster.

Yeah in low Elos both are beast, personally though I feel like being a Fiora main though. Quite unorthodox and tricky, but I think she's worth a shot. Her kit does resembles similar concepts to Yi, and both are very strong. MasterYi I will say is far safer than Fiora though, even when he is behind, if he's gotten some kills he's still a threat. I'd think I'd like the challenge Fiora is gonna give me though. I WILL grab MasterYi and Hecarim though. Those two are absolute must haves imo.

Just so you know: I climbed out of silver in a week or so with Yi and Hecarim at the start of this season. I was fooling around with champs like J4, Quinn, Annie, Jax, Nami etc. but it turns out that you can't go wrong with ridiculous movespeed, map-wide mobility and really good late games (both capable of solo carrying). They're also really good in medium elos (high gold/low plat). Even in games I lose, I take objectives, push towers and maintain a KDA over 2.

Yeah Yi gives me those vibes perfectly. I will definitely main him. Thanks for the tips I really appreciate it.

Hecarim and Jax for sure. Hecarim has an amazing teamfight and map presence due to his mobility. Jax has an extremely strong lategame and a very good splitpush. His teamfight isn't bad either. Both are also capable of jungling very well if you don't get to play top lane.

Nasus and Riven also not a bad choice. Nasus has a really strong midgame, kinda falls off a bit late because he is so easily kited though. Riven is strong at all stages of the game but her teamfight isn't very good unless you have a tanky support and tanky jungler to frontline for you.

Expect to see Katarina and Riven banned pretty often if you choose either of those, btw. At higher ELO Hecarim gets banned a lot too.

Yeah Hecarim has a 70% high elo ban rating from what I researched in LOLKing. I don't even see him alot in ranked either. I can see why though, he's a very tough champion to lane against period. Sejuani Follows the same boat, a bit hard to use, but done right can easily hurt enemy team plays.
