Banner of Command on Malzahar? Yay or Nay (explanations plz)

On one hand, it provides a number of stats he can make great use of and boosts his Voidlings so that they actually do damage late game.

On the other hand, Voidling AI is finnicky as hell and sometimes they spend the entire fight pacing between Malz and the enemy like it's running a marathon. Plus as it doesn't scale off AP, it's not his main damage he's boosting, but rather a part of his Passive that sometimes works and sometimes...is just there as a joke.

Post-4.20, the Banner no longer increases the damage minions do, but now has the Legion aura from Aegis Shield (more MR and +75% base health regen), plus using it on a lane minion makes said minion MUCH stronger than the old Promote did.

SO... Malz's minions are no longer buffed by this item. But I like it in mid lane still, for that pushing power when you use it on a Cannon minion

As a big Malzahar player I honestly don't think it's worth it. Especially with the way they've changed it. If you want to make the voidlings strong go AD Malz and even that is a hit or miss type of build.

Didn't they remove the aura? I don't think it works with pets anymore.

Though Malzahar was fun to troll build Banner of Command, post-4.20 still has it's uses. I mean, a beefed up minion in addition to voidling could be trouble. But I haven't played with the new version yet.
