Rengar as a Tank

I recently had a ranked match where I played tank Rengar. I've asked the boards before about Rengar being played as a tank, and I've got the expected response. However, I've seen it done well and I wanted to try it for myself.

I think the reason why tank Rengar worked here is that they didn't have any single target / burst magic damage, and they also had three hyper carries who were all auto attack reliant. Subsequently, this allowed me to dive with almost a zero chance of dying. Do you guys think there are any other instances that tank Rengar would work?

Pretty sure dandy played tank rengar at worlds last year so, yea, pretty sure it can work.

No i dont believe in tank rengar. Rengar doesnt have very good damage without having any damage and his cc is very limited so hes really not much of a threat. Im an adc main and a fed damage rengar is one of my fears :/. But a tank rengar i wouldnt be afraid of. Id just ignore him cause his dmg is low and his cc is not good. A comment on what celosar said, just cause something was done a year ago doesnt mean its still good. Tank kha used to be very popular. But its not anymore. Champions change. Things do not stay the same. Ez used to be a major threat now he just sucks. Shyv used to be able to build pure tank and do the damage of an adc and 1v4. Thats not the case anymore. Things change. You gotta realise that

Tank Rengar is strong he is able to stay alive for quite some time a free heal and people think he deals tons of damage so they focus him and ignore the real damage threats.

tanky rengar with like sunfire randuins youmus (vs ad) is probably unbeatable in lane, even tho his impact on the game is also lowered, but there is like no way to outtrade him.
