Bard - Let's go on a journey!

So, with Bard having been out for a good while now, I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to share all the handy little tricks they've learned about our favorite wandering caretaker. Hopefully someday he'll go from "bad champion" to "hard to play, but strong".

  • After your Q hits its first target, the range essentially refreshes, almost doubling the length of the Chain. Play around this to land unexpected stuns!

  • If you use smart-cast, have Tempered Fate set to show the casting cursor so you know exactly what you're going to hit. Very useful for tower dives and stealing objectives.

  • Speaking of objectives, when trying to help your team steal dragon/baron, try to hit only the enemy team; primarily their jungler. This leaves your own team/jungler able to finish it off without interruption.

  • Getting chased? Place a shrine across the nearest wall, then Magical Journey through it. You'll arrive on top of it, getting the speed boost instantly. Should the enemy choose to follow you, cast Cosmic Binding right as they come through for a guaranteed stun.

  • Magical Journey is absolutely perfect for setting up ambushes. Bait an enemy into following you through it so your team can follow up!

Got any more? Feel free to share them!

Always collect shrines. I have seen too many bard players refuse to do so. This is a mistake. The higher the shrine number the more powerful you become.

Play around with where you put your magical journey. Believe it or not, you can place the magical journey in some pretty sweet spots to go far. My personal favorite is along the line where the golemns spawn.

I don't play Bard a whole ton, but some of the best jukes I've seen have come from Bard putting his Magical Journey on a wall right in front of a brush while he's being chased very closely. Most of the time (at least at the garbage elo I'm at), the enemy will go straight for the tunnel and ignore the fact that Bard never actually went in himself until it's too late.
