Why Can't I Win Games????

I feel like I do good in normals, but when it comes to ranked, I just can't seem to win. It seems like every ranked game, there is that one guy that carries the enemy team. I need to know how to be that guy. I am always consistant, but with the teams in ranked I get paired with, consistent isnt cutting it. I need to know what the key is to carrying a team For a start, I admit I die a little too much. However, I tend to go fairly even in lane most of the time. Sometimes, I underestimate my opponent, which leads to those deaths. What else can I do?

Blame the jungler

Well, to be honest, champions are pretty important. I love playing olaf top and can often win lane, but i cant carry for shit as olaf( i'm bronze so take my advice with a grain of salt) so i started playing Irelia and nasus. My win rate jumped right up when i switched champions. Also its good to identify who that "one guy" is early on and just help your other lanes shut him the fuck down.

First thing's first, one of the best ways to climb soloqueue is to main one champion and be really REALLY good with that one champion. If not two; one of the best ways to carry is to stick to one really solid pick for Mid or ADC. I'm currently working on my mid and adc game because I'm tired of following the rules and doing everything right as a support/tank jungler, and losing because some idiot picks Ashe, goes 0-20 to the enemy Vayne, and we lose because Vayne can now 1v5 the entire team. If you're not a good adc, watch videos, play regular games until you carry almost constantly. If you have trouble getting there, you know how to adc but get outplayed, try practicing in bot games. I've been playing a bunch of games as Jinx just to get good with her. I noticed that I needed to work on my reflexes, so I practice against the intermediate bots. The beginner bots are awful at pretty much everything.

Sometimes, people think they know how to adc like they're diamond, but they're missing certain tricks to the trade. How is your last hitting? How well do you poke? Do you know your match ups well? Do you know your general damage outputs and power spikes? Your opponents? Can you kite/animation cancel? How is your positioning in teamfights? How do you adapt your build to the situation? Do you control objectives correctly? How often do you buy wards and place wards?

These are just a lot of things that I noticed that I didn't do, and have to work on still while I try to "break out" from bronze elo to where my favorite champion to jungle with, Sion is a more viable pick (since, in bronze, your success as Sion is pretty much directly connected to how good a player your adc/mid is).

I also suggest (for soloqueue) you pick a very aggressive champion. If you prefer to top lane, pick someone like Nasus or Renekton. If you're ADC, pick someone like Graves or Vayne. In mid you have all kinds of champs that are really aggressive like Xerath, Leblac, Yasuo, Nidalee... Just don't pick someone who gets banned often like Katarina. In the jungle you have a few picks like Nidalee or Hecarim that are pretty strong, and very aggressive. Yi is a bit out of favor, but you're good with him he can be pretty scary.

You can carry as a support main, but your problem (From what I can tell) is that your teammates aren't that good, so I don't advise it, but if you do try to pick someone like Blitz or Thresh. Morgana requires a bit more skill to land her apocalyptic "you're not making it out alive" skill, so you may not want to pick her at first.

I hate to say it, but in ranked at low elo, you're not always going to get a good carry, but you can eliminate this problem by being the good carry. I hate to leave it on a note like practice to get better, but that's essentially what you need to do at your choice of adc or apc. Eventually, you're probably going to need to be skilled at all roles anyway, so now would probably be a good time for you to pick up a carry role.

If your having trouble, find the champion that you can play the best (doesn't matter which one), and try to stick to it till you get good with it.

Always do your best, your best will change from day to day based on if you are sick or healthy or having a good day or bad but regardless do your best without overworking yourself.

Stay in lane as long as possible and when you aren't poking champion you should be farming minions or buying items and warding brushes (mostly river for gank awareness)

Focus team objectives and teamwork such as dragons and towers over kills and don't participate in arguments unless they REALLY deserve it to keep team morale up, fighting with your teammates will only make them distrust you more and do stupid things, which causes you to lose.

Pay attention to the map and your positioning, and when you get ahead and take your tower, if you see another lane struggling, attempt to roam and help them make a kill or take a tower, even if unsuccessful in making a kill or KS them by accident, you will probably bring morale up.

Clear out lanes of minions when they start to bunch up and threaten your base and do whatever you can to help your team, if you are a marksman/mage stay at the back and nuke suckers, if you are a tank, stay at the front and protect mages and marksmen, if you are a buffer, try to buff/debuff as best you can.

If nobody is talking, don't be afraid to call shots and try to guide the team to victory asking/letting them know it is a good or bad time to dragon, split push or whatever.

An important rule of thumb when it comes to trading and killing laners is if they are coming at you to fight you, they likely know something in their favor that you do not.

And above all, remember these 2 quotes from the linked inspirational video. "Don't be afraid to fail. You won't always win, but you can't be afraid of making desicions" "If you are not making someone else's life better, then you are wasting your time.

When in doubt open your mouth.

Don't worry so much about getting your team fed.. get yourself fed then with that gold use it to help your team get gold. But when you get fed keep some things in mind.

Support getting kills? Ward more, get a locket, get a frozen heart. Doing these helps your team and rewards them for you getting kills. Mid taking kills? Keep killing them, position right dont throw by fighting 5 v 1s because you got a few kills early doesn't make you a God. Respect your team and help them win with all the kills you got you are the one who needs to carry. Everytime someone says "i cant carry this team" I feel yes you can't and thats why you lost. Dont blame team if you get fed mid. ADC getting all kills? Take towers.. you are the biggest threat on your team for getting towers because you can hit them from afar. Position correctly and try to stay alive while still contributing by attacking in fights. Tank getting fed? Go ham.. tank the enemy, lure them to your team. Dive towers with all that Gold.. Make plays but in the end keep in mind.. STAY ALIVE. A tanks job is to absorb damage without dieing and actually benefitting from tanking. Tanking 5 people when your team is on the other side of the map doesn't help and you being fed doing this is kind of a throw. Jungle getting all the kills? Perfect. Gank more, get drags, towers, barons. Push with your team, ward enemy jungle. You are the threat but one counter gank can throw this lead. Use the extra gold to your advantage by warding.. you can continue to constantly pull off successful ganks.

Stop dying. I hate it when I am playing ADC, trying to carry by being up 1-0 and 15 cs, only to see the score is 1/15 because people want to try to make #LC$BIGPLAY$.

Your match history isn't consistent at all.

Xela Syab3/19/2015, 4:38:48 PM1 votes

I checked your match history you play mostly fizz/malphite/jinx/and ahri. I'd say you have a well rounded playstyle but I'd recommend playing fizz top/jungle than mid he's stronger as a bruiser now, play safer carries like cait and graves jinx is objective and kill reliant, pick up zed or leblanc for your mid lane over ahri I feel like they are stronger mid assassins right now, malphite is good but I feel like sion and maokai do a better job for tanking and initiating for team. Stop playing twisted treeline, it won't help you on ranked even aram would help better for teamfight training than tt. Also your kda is kinda bad for playing assassin champs, try to get better warding and positioning on the map when you kill.
