Nobody Understands what Being Postiive Is

Last game, our Draven was horrible, like 3 deaths in 4 min. Granted, he couldn't do much after that. Yasuo and Renekton were saying "report draven for trolling" even though he wasn't. Draven tried to stay positive. "it's k we got this." Do you know what Yasuo said to that? "Do you even play seriously?" I don't get it. We can't even be positive anymore because it comes off as trolling. This player base needs to learn something. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

It's difficult to expect a jerk to suddenly not be.

Stay Positive!Lux

Positivity Positively attracts Negativity.

Dude I have met so many players who flame other teammates over one benign mistake that didn't cost the game anything. Just chill bros, damn.

AliBlaBla11/26/2015, 12:13:34 AM7 votes

I heard Charlie Sheen is good at being positive ...

Mister Punches11/26/2015, 2:08:37 AM4 votes

Honestly, the ones who complain about positive players being positive are, from my personal experience, the ones who go full tilt at the slightest mistake, are often toxic, and usually the ones who are overly cocky and lack skill.

I encountered those in Bronze a lot, and to be honest, if they weren't on my team, I took heavy advantage of that, since it would be a free win for me. I know it sounds like I'm a jerk, but if I see a toxic player who spends more time complaining about their teammates rather than playing, I already know that the game will be one sided. If they're on my team, I mute them and continue on. If they're on the enemy team, I mute them and take a free win.

Now I wouldn't be like that Yasuo, but when someone says "it's k we got this" when we clearly don't, just comes across as patronizing.

When something is wrong, don't act like it doesn't exist. Acknowledge it and move to fix it. Pretending that it doesn't exist can just end up making the affected people feel bitter towards the delusional person. Fake positivity isn't positivity at all.

Ada Wong11/25/2015, 10:09:32 PM3 votes

The only thing you can do is mute these players and try to keep it a positive experience go about your game, don't talk toxic stuff back but only say nice things, don't even threaten reports.

The reason is because these days every time someone does badly for (X) reason a player always generally starts harassing chat accusing a person of Intentionally feeding, I have as a player went through this over and over again, and I am not just talking about League OF Legends, where currently I am banned from playing because they think I feed Intentionally, but other games DOTA 2, Smite I can do just as bad, and never been banned from them.

While I agree that compared to League I suck at DOTA, you know what happens when I play with someone else I generally feed most of the time, or do a lot worse than I normally would, when I play solo I generally do a lot better, I think my problem is generally playing with most people who don't play similiar type of play.

Playing a Bot Role for some players is harder than it is for others, and yes players do bad, the enemy gets two kills, do you even understand who has the advantage now (The Enemy) If you go into a direct (All in fight) who is likely to win (The Enemy) not you the except being certain champions, and quick plays, for example all in Annie Support combo + Immediate ADC follow up you can do better. ( In General with a skilled bot lane player we can easily kill an ADC in under 3 seconds, regardless of the support being played on enemy team most of the time.)

In general being a player for years, I remember League OF Legends before all this toxicity suddenly started happening, and the game used to be great I remember when people wouldn't get mad for going Ashe Mid, or Sivir Top, Does anyone here not played as long as I have to Remember the old season when Sivir was one of the most over powered champions in the entire game?

"draven 0-20" "Its ok we got this"

When i see something like that with this kind of score if i was having this person in front of me i would slap him so hard he would need a new jaw

Yeahs this "positive" words can drive anyone insane because its obvious trolling

HOW IN THE NAME OF ANY GOD YOU BELIEVE A 0-20 IS "ITS OK WE GOT THIS"

Werewolf Link11/26/2015, 9:01:25 PM3 votes

Being positive is having more Kills and Assists than Deaths.

Zero Shingetsu11/26/2015, 6:35:01 AM2 votes

To be fair, "it's k we got this" could have been interpreted as sarcasm. I try to elaborate for that reason. "Will you relax? We're down five kills and ahead on towers. I'm having a bad game, but the rest of you are doing great. We'll be fine." But I understand a lot of people don't type as fast as I do. :/ It's unfortunate that it's hard to be positive these days.

I Main Swain11/26/2015, 8:22:19 PM2 votes

its being positive your team is garbage right?

Skadeglädje11/27/2015, 8:25:12 AM2 votes

In these situations the absolute best thing to do is being constructive. It's a team game, after all, and teams can work around losing lanes. It's very rare for a team to win all lanes so bitching about the losing one will only hurt the whole team. As a jungler "k, I'll camp [lane] for a while, play def and we'll try to shut [x] down" or mid laners roamin or tops lane swapping can actually help you win games. Or the person keeps losing badly in which case you lose. Which, shockingly, 50% of all players do every game!

Affinity211/26/2015, 4:31:33 PM1 votes

Because when somebody plays like an asshole. Impatient lack of trust in my or our teamates ability to play thier champions playpattern (which you can tell based off of met reaction speed difference relative to how they respond to opponents options compares to teamates options) among other in game actions give a clear unspoken profile about what a player is actually thinking.

IN OTHER WORDS YOU CAN BE AN ASSHOLE WITHOUT SPEAKING AT A HIGH LEVEL OF PLAY.

The report system may not reflect it and i am certainly a toxic player but the people i bitch at get what they deserve. Its pretty easy to tell when a player is bad and trying vs someone tilting or not giving a shit about the game.

The difference is i tank a report to the face while these assholes dont say a word in chat and dont put the best effort to taking a nexus. Undercommunication should be a reportable offense

Occams Raiser11/26/2015, 4:32:21 PM1 votes

draven was trolling or didn't give a shit, which is also trolling. if it is literally 3 deaths in 4 minutes or even 3 deaths before level 6. since I have hit level 30 many moons ago I have yet to die 3 times before level 6.

Smitty Manjensen11/26/2015, 4:37:07 PM1 votes

Ok sry but I need to ask, how can he possibly die 3 times in 4 min without being a troll? You need around 30 second to go back to lane. so that leaves 2.30 min to be in lane.

elon wątroba11/26/2015, 7:29:22 PM1 votes

Charlie Sheen does.

Draven sucks balls. I would be mad at him too.

Crveni Malboro11/26/2015, 8:27:26 PM1 votes

U encounterd a litle brat. THey are swarming league right now.Being 16 and being the smartest on a team is just wrong..

Claviature12/15/2015, 4:44:59 AM1 votes

That person is just irrational. He should've just accepted his mistake and ff'd. I'm with Yasuo on this one.

Dad Rock11/27/2015, 12:03:48 AM1 votes

"Being positive" or "being nice" or "being a non toxic player" just means that you are manipulative and say what you think needs to be said for your team to do what you want them to do. Riot isn't promoting anti-toxic behavior, they're promoting manipulative behavior. It's hard to find someone who's actually nice and isn't affected by the outcome of a game when the game is competitive and that's how it should be. If you talk to any of these "positive players" they will tell you that they say "good job" to their teamates after every kill so that people don't feel like they need to surrender, they couldn't care less if the guy had a stroke after the game was over.

GayForYasuo11/27/2015, 5:51:52 AM1 votes

Yes, you are right in most aspects, but if I was in this game, I probably would have did the same thing as Yasuo, especially if it was a ranked game.

Solitair11/26/2015, 3:55:53 AM1 votes

Here's the problem with "positivity", it can be just as bad, if not worse, than negativity. Negativity is highly stigmatized, and seen as a bad quality to have and exhibit as a human being, while positivity is unfairly viewed as an ideal quality and something that is always helpful. It is true, moderated positivity can help you to continue to strive for a turnaround in any bad situation. Thoughts like " We can still do this" or " If we can play this right, we still have a chance". For this to be helpful, you'd have to actually recognize the factors that would culminate in success and make the proper decisions based off of that knowledge. ex: You'd need to see the iceberg and steer the ship away in time.

Negativity is recognizing that if you do not make better decisions, or change things, you have less or no chance to succeed. Good negativity is very helpful, ex: "Sir! We are headed for an iceberg. If we don't steer clear, we are going to crash!" This negativity avoids disasters.

negativity can be harmful for obvious reasons that everyone knows and constantly rehashes, while ignoring it's good points. Positivity can be harmful in ways people always refuse to acknowledge. bad positivity will BLIND you to the circumstances and doom you to failure because it prevents you from recognizing that you need to take proper action to accomplish success. Blind, harmful positivity is "oh an iceberg? Stay the course. It's no big deal, we'll make it :)". Comforting words, but It will drive you straight into disaster. It is well documented. Positivity actually played a huge role in the recent American recession.

So I hope you've learned something about positivity, and why it is not always good.

CircusT4ffy11/26/2015, 6:52:05 AM1 votes

I find it very difficult to have fun when I play this game. It's just stopped being fun. There's no way around it.

When someone isn't having fun they can be far more prone to negative behaviour. Which is when they should stop playing.

Most people aren't like me and they don't stop though. They want to win. They want to get a high. They want to go up instead of feeling down. Until they get a winning feeling they are going to be upset. Whatever stops them from winning or they perceive as preventing them from winning is going to make them lash out. Not try to help out.

I hate League of Legends for that alone. The cycle of ups and downs is too much.

kaltenashes11/26/2015, 1:46:24 AM1 votes

yeah, needs to learn to mute if someone's being a jerk, play your game and work hard for the comeback, because throws are real, pretty real (lost a game today, where my team wasn't thinking right, we almost won the game, the enemy nexus survived with something like 10-50 hp... i said lets get baron group up win a team fight win the game but my team decided to go 1 by 1 try to last hit the nexus and they all failed...we lost)
