tips for jungling

So I've been trying to play jungle for a while now. And I suck. I do good maybe 2 out of 10 games. So anyone got any tips? I feel like my main issue is that I never seem to know when or where to gank. I have the worst sense of priority, and if two different lanes are having trouble, and I'm somewhere between the two, there is a good chance I'm going to blow it either way and make the situation worse. That and sometimes I worry about when I should go in since I know if I jump in too early, I'm gonna blow the gank entirely and probably end up dead. So yeah, those are my biggest problems. Anyone have any suggestions?

It comes from experience. I am also learning how and when to gank right now. Try to go to the lane that seems to have a less favorable matchup. Though obviously you won't be able to gank top lane if your teammate is feeding his lane opponent. Also keep tabs on the enemy jungler for counter ganks. Punish those who play near your turret.

i prioritize by three things. 1. goal of the kill (me or laner getting the kill, flash burned, tp burned, ect.) 2. How well is the lane doing 3. how convient is it for me? So not all ganks can be sucessful, and sometimes they just get out of your range before you do anything . This isn't always a bad thing. As vi, for example, if someone flashes away not only have you burned their flash/escape, but you can ult them and use q to knock them back to the laner. Look for oppertunities when ganking. Every lane is your lane. Own it. if a lane is behind maybe 4 kills (your adc, mid, supp, or top feeding) and they're behind 4 kills; i consider it a Dead Lane. Ask yourself "if i give this person a kill, maybe even two kills, maybe even three, will they start winning lane." if the answer is no, only counter gank to defend, not to go all ham. If im sweeping blue on blue side or red on purple and i see the enemy top laner pushing top because my top is dead, shopping or whatever, try to run in and get a kill. Do something; not just farm (unless you're someone like Shyvana ). it helps to ward the entrences/exits to their jungle to lane. River bush should always have a ward. Do this, and i believe you'll improve!

The best way to learn optimal ganking is to simply farm your camps as they come up and check the minimap as you approach each lane in turn. So let's say you just cleared out your top side jungle and are approaching top lane. If your top laner is being pushed to tower by the opponent and hasn't fed excessively, then it's a great time to gank top lane.

Basically, every time you're passing by a lane, use the minimap to determine whether a gank is in order or not. You don't want to gank against a lane that's been feeding heavily, because you'll likely just die and add to the problem. You don't want to waste time ganking for a lane that your team has pushed up, either, because it's too easy for the enemy to escape to the safety of their tower.

Don't become overly concerned with the desires of your laners. They're all a bunch of self-serving piles of entitlement. YOU are the jungler, and YOU decide whether or not to gank a lane.

Who are you playing as? All junglers have slightly different gank patterns.

Pay attention heavily to matchups and what lanes they're in. Those are the lanes you prioritise for ganks.

Gank when the enemy is pretty far up in your lane. The closer they are to your base, the harder it is for them to escape.

Warwick is a good champion if you want to know the basics of jungling and want to understand it a little bit more.

Also, what champions do you usually play as junglers? Usually more mobile champions or champions with decent pokes are nice for ganks.

SuicidalArmedilo recently posted a beginner guide here

Additionally, look up Nightblue3 on Twitch/Youtube and Stonewall008 on Youtube (I think he also streams but not sure what his twitch is), both are high elo junglers that offer a lot of tips, I've learned a lot from both of them.
