Probably stupid question- Is Zac any good?

Whatevsman97··3 votes·4,641 views

I dunno, I don't see him get played that often (course, there's a lot of champs you don't see that often) but still, I'm curious, mainly since I was thinking of buying him next. So yeah, at the risk of asking a dumb question, is Zac any good? Why or why not? Any tips, any things I should watch out for?

He's strong but team reliant. He's a really strong ganker and a great initiator and you just have to hope to god that your team has enough brain cells to follow up on your plays.

Yes. No idea how to play him tank. So I play him full AP.

In any case, max E.

Hes a fantastic tank, expect to see a rise of him and not just due to his new skin, as he gains health, he gains size, which makes his abilities larger. Also in the jungle start w, then max slingshot for the increased range. Zac is a lot of fun.

Zac is a great champion. He takes awhile to master though. That's why you don't see him often, people aren't willing to put in the practice. He starts slow, but scales very well. Plus he really is a blast to play. His ganks are awesome and he can really wreck teamfights.

As Zac jungle, you should watch out for strong counterjunglers like Shaco or LeeSin or Rengar because they can invade your jungle easily. This may sound obvious, but Zac is even weaker to counterjungle when compared to other tank junglers such as Sejuani and Gragas due to the fact that Zac spends a lot of health when clearing jungle camps. However, like every tank jungler, Zac outscales almost all counterjunglers.

As Zac top, you should watch out for champions who can outsustain you. Examples of hard matchups to Zac: Hecarim (can cheese and all-in Zac early, deny him his blobs sustain, and has as much teamfighting presence) Darius (You can't even get near to Darius) Renekton (He will outdamage and outsustain you) Fizz (has % damage, it is difficult to do something against him because of his mobility) Mordekaiser (You can't get past his shield) Jayce (Harass and poke you eternally)

As Zac in general, watch out for things such as:

  1. AoE mages like Brand and Malzahar. Brand and Malzahar, in particular, are very good against Zac, because they have % damage and can deny Zac's engage with their CC. Both can also kill Zac easily while he has his passive activated.
  2. Anti-tank champions like Vayne or Trundle or the aforementioned Malzahar
  3. Duelists. Zac is horrible in a 1x1 situation. Zac can beat some of those champions during the early game, but at late game, Zed Jax MasterYi Khazix (if isolated) Tryndamere are able to easily beat Zac, penetrating through his defenses and killing him. Zac's strength is his teamfighting potential, massive tankyness and his utility.

Last time I had a Rengar in my game I was counterjungling HIM. I never went below 50% HP during my first clear, beat him to his own Blue, forced him off it and took it for myself.

Rengar has terrible first clear and goes low even after that without the purple smite... Zac is good in all-in comps with champions like Sivir and Hecarim - Heca top, Sivir adc, Annie support, Zac jungle, Katarina mid - your team has great teamfight and CC, so Kata can go in and kill everyone or clean the teamfight after the enemy is CCed by Annie or Zac.

He's good in any comp Sej and Gragas are good in. It's just as easy to use your CC to peel for say, a Vayne, as it is to lock someone up in a Katarina ult.

His jungle sustain is hilarious. That, combined with his manaless kit and AOE damage, you don't have to recall for sooooo long.

Technically he's in contention for 'strong AP tank' along with Amumu and Sejuani. Zac has advantages in higher mobility (and epic slingshot ganks) and disruption with his ult. He doesn't really have lockdown though, which the former two do have. His DPS is also a bit inconsistent unless you're constantly picking up your passive chunks, since grabbing them lowers his W CD so you can spam it.

So really, play him because you want to. He's very fun, and pulling off a long-ranged slingshot gank feels VERY satisfying. Also, his personality is genuinely awesome and hearing his quotes makes you feel better during a game, but hey, that might just be me.

IN MY OPINION he is just as strong as the likes of Gragas and Sejuani. He deals some % HP damage - just like Gragas and Sejuani. He has 2 forms of Hard CC and 1 form of Soft CC - just like Gragas and Sejuani. He has a Gap Closer - just like Gragas and Sejuani. He even sustains just as well as Gragas and Sejuani.

Why isn't he played as much as Gragas and Sejuani? Simply because no competitive LoL player has had consistent success with him yet.

Right now Zac is my main Jungler BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN LEFT UNTOUCHED BY THE NERFS MADE TO CINDERHULK JUNGLERS. Sejuani, Rek'Sai, Gragas. All Cinderhulk Junglers. All nerfed during the resurgence of Tank Junglers.

All it will take is for a reputable Jungler to pull him out in Competitive LoL a couple of times and show the sheeple-filled community that he's strong.

He's awesome. I'm just poor, otherwise I would a bought him. He is pretty amazing and deals food damage. You should buy him.

This is your main build item 3709 /item 3717 item 3143 item 3111 item 3065 item 3151 And another item to your liking. You can probably get item 3001 or a item 3102. You can build him in many ways. You can even get item 3116 paired together with item 3151. Or you can go the 1v5 build.

item 3717/item 3709 item 3075 item 3083 item 3111 item 3065 and whatever u want.

If I can get him through mystery cham, I would be happy.

NOTE: BUY ITEMS ACCORDING TO YOUR MATCH UP. JUST BECAUSE THERE IS ONLY 1 AP DAMAGE DEALER DOES NOT MEAN YOU BUILD TONS OF MAGIC RESIST FOR HIM. UNLESS HE DEALS A LOT THEN GO FOR IT BUT OTHER THAN THAT, BUILD ACCORDINGLY.

Yes, Zac is strong right now, especially in the jungle with cinderhulk. He is, in my opinion, the most mechanically intensive tank. Max his E first because it increases his jump range for ganks, then W second for the %HP damage. Make sure to keep picking up blobs. If you don't pick up blobs, you aren't getting mileage out of Zac. Spirit Visage is great on Zac because it increases the healing. Try to split up the enemy team when ulting and knock squishes into your own team. When your revive passive is up and you are low on HP, try to bait an enemy into diving you in your own team, only to have them realise you aren't dead and your team is killing them. Also, you can get your teammates to teleport to one of your 4 blobs when reviving, temporarily making that blob invulnerable, like like a minion.
