Is aatrox viable

I was thinking about getting aatrox because from what i saw he can carry hard late game if he isn't shut down, but i read elsewhere that he is not a viable champ so i came to ask you guys of your opinion of aatrox.

There are a lot of people out there who think there are only two or three "viable" champs per position per half-season. You really shouldn't listen to them.

Play the champions you love playing and get good with them. That's all you really need to do.

This, even if the other laner(s) is "op" you should still have a better understanding of the match up with the champs you stick with. Most likely they are picking the "op" because everyone else says to play them.
