What do YOU guys wish your mid laner did?

Title. I main mid lane and I'd like the opinions of people who play roles other than mid to tell me what do YOU guys expect of a mid laner, so that I can apply your opinions to my own gameplay. Just wanting to improve, Thanks :)

Main points so far:

  1. Roam more/Help other lanes
  2. Ward more/assist the support and jungler in taking control of the map
  3. Communicate with team more/take responsibility for your opponent
  4. Don't push too hard before laning phase ends, as the enemy mid laner will get to free farm and you will be in danger
  5. Try not to die to the enemy mid laner a lot and let your opponent snowball
  6. Uhh push your lane if the other person is roaming and you can't follow
  7. Don't blindly pick a champ, look at your team's composition and what the team needs
  8. Pay attention to the map

Not pick Yasuo when we already have an AD top, assassin jungler, and squishy support. With zero knockups on our team.

Or at the very least, not consistently go 1/7/2 if they do that.

If you're an immobile mage, ward well and don't push too hard or you will feed and I will cry. 90% of mages can farm acceptably under tower, don't die three times under the enemy tower and then blame your jungler for not ganking, while continuously pushing. Don't rush two mana items (tear and chalice do not go together, please). Don't rush a utility item (rylai's, twin shadows) unless it's a zhonya's and you're vs an ad. Don't rush a chalice against an ad or a seekers against an ap. Don't assume that a counter means it's impossible to win: worst-case scenario they don't counter you AND your entire minion wave at the same time. On top of that, if you can push harder than them they don't usually counter you with half as many abilities as you, so hit level two first. If your enemy laner roams, and you didn't follow, or they backed first so you didn't know, you better damn well be shoving mid or taking tower in the meantime. There is nearly always something you can do to counter a roam. Buy pinks, this is important mid because there's like six avenues for ganking and it's hard to keep all of them warded acceptably, especially in soloqueue. No, you don't have to die to every gank, it's not the jungler's fault you can't figure out spending 75 gold for a stealth ward. If you're willing to buy two pots to resist poke, how can you turn down the same amount of money to just not die? If you're a damage-focused ap and don't have a void staff by 3rd item (excluding boots) you're actually stupid and need to rethink basic math. Don't build a lichbane on ziggs, I know it's recommended, I don't care, especially if you're also building an athene's AND a tear. I know that lolking guide was really convincing, but I gotta tell you that athene's is not the best rush against yasuo.

I want him to leave his lane when his team needs help, or just to gank. Literally only one mid laner this season actually did this for me, came all the way bot at level 3 to get us first blood and double kill; gifted and friended him. Turns out he's Master in Korea. Can't believe it takes a Korean fucking Master player to actually leave mid.

Everyone else, I'll literally be needing help 10 feet from mid but they won't stop CS'ing for anything.

Follow the roam of the opposing mid laner (obviously if the enemy mid laner isn't TF or Kassadin). And if they don't follow the roam at least PUSH THE FUCKING LANE AND GET THE TOWER instead of starting to rotate to the bot lane after they died 3v2. "Bot lane is dead because mid roamed? Better start walking there!"

If you're losing lane, don't whine for a gank. Push lane to tower and then roam to get fed. "but im losing lane whien whine I need a gank so I can be mediocre and the winning laners not get fed blabla" bullshit go gank the winning lane ye %%%get

I wish the midlaner would roam more. I wish the midlaner would take 10 seconds to get to the river because I found their jungler killing scuttle. I would like the midlaner as well as other laners to collapse on the enemy jungler if I find them counterjungling me.

Please just ping. And if you are playing an immoble champ vs a roaming champ, don't bother following. You're just wasting your time. Unless you are ready to make a super play.

But do something different for "I actually have no idea where he is" and "he's ganking you in the face"

If you ping and I die, it's my fault. Regardless what lane I'm in.

  • Focus on your lane. I give you vision against bot river ganks and all you have to do is trinket/vision top river.

Too many mids keep thinking about roaming and try either;

  1. Roam during a catty wave.
  2. Roam when the lane isn't pushed to their tower.
  3. Roam while their mid laner is still there and sees them walk bot/top.

I ward river near mid to favour and assist you against ganks.

  1. Don't ward bot river again, I already have it warded.
  2. Ping junglers which side is warded and let them know asap so they can clear jungle on the correct side and come gank. Don't wait for them to stand on the ward to tell them.
  3. Don't tunnel vision on your lane, if an enemy shows on the map. Back off. It's not worth that last 3cs to risk dying.

  1. just DONT FEED MAN PLEASE. i can play in a way so that i get strong and alot of gold no matter what happens, but feeders just make my game so much harder. if you dont die, thats all i ask for.

Ward the river bush. Like seriously, don't ward the bushes that's right on your sides. That's not going to save you from ganks and barely alerts you in time to react. This also helps you to identify roams so you can warn your teammates and either follow or push accordingly. The amount of times I've decided to support and saw the mid laner not doing is just mind numbing. Plus on your first back if you have like 130-200G just there, buy some pots and a few wards maybe toss in a vision ward in there. It will pay for itself.

Seriously. I'm bot lane's support, not mid lane's. It's mid lane's job to ward the approaches to mid lane so they don't get wrecked by the enemy jungler, and it's nice if they can drop a ward at the jungle buff between them and top lane since it's not likely the support will A. have the wards to get it or B. make it that far.

Stop feeding their Yasuo. Maybe roam bot if your lane is pushed and ours is against our tower.

  1. Roam more/Help other lanes ONLY roam when you can do it safely without losing your turret. It's not great to roam if the enemy is hitting your turret or maybe the jungler has to cover for you, doing your job because you're doing his.

  2. Try not to die to the enemy mid laner a lot and let your opponent snowball Of course. All you can do is your best though; you cant win every lane.

  3. Uhh push your lane if the other person is roaming and you can't follow This would be great. I actually think it's better to hit the turret than try to ever follow. If you know where your laner went, then ping over and over to be sure your team is aware they are coming. The turret is worth 775g so that's going to be guaranteed value if you can hit it safely.

  4. Pay attention to the map A lot of mids don't prioritize helping the jungler if he is invaded.

when winning mid dont take the tower because you just end laneing phase and let the other mid laner farm under teir 2 making you over extend to get farm or get a kill and WARD like no mid laner does this i mean seriously buy pink wards and upgrade your trinket to help the team but besides that win lane
