@Riot can you please add this to Tiamat?

Removing the cleave passive on Tiamat was a pretty big nerf to most melee Assassins' waveclear, such as Kha'Zix, Talon, or Rengar. Could you please give back the Cleave passive, but maybe make it a bit weaker if it was too strong to start with? :o

Or lower the cooldown on the active a bit, that would be fine too

At first, I was upset with the removal of the cleave passive. But after giving it a few days of thought, it actually puts the item in a better position than it was before. It still gives wave clear for those who need it since the active is AoE and is an AA reset. And since your auto attacks don't do AoE damage, you are still allowed to buy tiamat if you want to freeze lane.

If you were trying to buy old tiamat to freeze a lane, I don't know what to tell you.

That's kind of my point. I liked getting tiamat first item because it had good early game stats and builds into strong items. But if I did rush it, I was essentially committing to a play style that could potentially make laning harder.

item 3124 is a good replacement if your champ has any scale with ap

auto attack based* Kha and Rengar both have AP and are melee but they arent AA based

I was just saying it's better for melee champs cause it doubles the stacks received for AAs if they are melee, so they get the AOE faster.

Rengar isnt AA based?

Well not when he's 1 shotting you. He doesn't need AAs

He only need 3.

It has come to the point where it's viable on any jungler and anyone who builds attack speed.

I wouldn't mind tiamat having its old passive back, but lowering the cooldown on the active is a big problem for me.

Doing that would give the champion purchasing it way too much power. I like to think of tiamat as an ad version of sunfire cape, when you bought it, it was a huge spike in your damage at the cost of always pushing your lane. The new tiamat isn't as powerful, so I can justify it without too much trouble. But giving a lower active would increase its power dramatically while still allowing opponents to retain the ability to freeze the lane.

What he wanted was to either give the old passive or lower the cooldown on the current one

Right so basically I would be fine with giving the old passive back (but the cost of the item has to go WAAAAAAAAAAAY up again, which is why it was changed in the first place) but I am not okay with lowering the cool down on the current tiamat because that would make the item incredibly overpowered.

Well I guess something that could be done is add a new passive that does (7 x level) physical damage to units in the immediate area of the target and (5 x level) physical damage to units near the edges of the range. Something like that.

talon's waveclear is fine... W and tiamat active still clears the wave instantly. and it's really nice now to be able to rush tiamat to push your lane in and then sit on it to get youmu's without autopushing your lane by last hitting.

How about sligthly weaker cleave passive and remove the active.

Active becomes available on the upgraded item titanic/ravenous

Tiamat _ Recipe: Pickaxe (875) + Rejuvenation Bead (150) + 425 = 1450_

+30 Attack Damage +50% Base Health Regen

Unique Passive - Cleave: Basic attacks (on-hit) deal bonus Physical Damage to other enemies near the target; from 45% AD down to 15% AD based on proximity.

Unique Active - Crescent: Deals Physical Damage to all nearby enemy units; from 100% AD down to 60% AD based on proximity (10 second CD).

Ravenous Hydra: Tiamat (1450) + Vampiric Scepter (800) + Pickaxe (875) + 475 = 3600

Titanic Hydra: Tiamat (1450) + Jaurim's Fist (1200) + Crystalline Bracer (600) + 350 = 3600

  • Health increased to 500.

This put Titanic Hydra's gold efficiency up to 103.69%, just about equal to Ravenous Hydra's 103.33%.

Or it works on minions and monster only? I don't understand why they removed it in the 1st place.

well, tbh, it is a really strong passive that boosts your wave clear and damage potential in lane considerably, it was a lot to have on a component of hydra. If they do bring back the Tiamat passive, they will bring it back like this more than likely: the cleave passive Is disabled while the active is on cd.

This would be nice
