It's easy.
Just casually mention, during a lull in battle, as if you're just making small talk and not trying to tell them what to do:
"Hey I just learned today that it's impossible to get an S+ rating without upgrading your trinket! Haha fucking rito."
It doesn't matter if it's true or not.

See, I go with the whole "vampire philosophy" (in that I won't go anywhere that we don't have direct vision, even if doing so is 100% safe and doesn't pose any risk). Then my team will usually upgrade their trinkets and ward like crazy, just to get me to join things like baron attempts and teamfights.
Mate...mate...I think you just gave me an answer to the question I've been asking myself since they introduced trinket upgrade! I will definitely try this strategy in my next game!
Only downside would be if some smart ass replies by saying how he never upgrades his trinket and always has S+ rating :)
