I can't Last Hit With AP Bursts

As the title says, I can't last hit with all the AP bursts that I have been trying to play. The lane itself is not a problem, I frequent AD Mids, AD Bruisers, AD Jgs, and AP Sups). I'm trying to diversify my champ pool and have tried out Ahri , Fizz , Katarina , Leblanc , and Syndra since those champs are the ones that complement my playstyle the most. As I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one, I rely on farm to get fed and only go for the kill if I am completely sure I can make it, otherwise, I keep on farming or freeze my lane if I HAVE to. However, last hitting is a problem. Either I'm too early or I'm a split second too late in getting cs. If this information is any use, I am (by a large margin) a Zed main. Tips?

Go into a custom game with the champ you want to practice with and just work on last hitting.

Obviously you don't have anyone trying to stop you but you will be getting used to the timing for the last hit.

You can try using hybrid marks if you want. But mostly this is experience.

I get where you're coming from. Last hitting with champions like Swain and the ones you listed can be really painful (it still is for me). In all honesty from my experience the timing of the last hit comes with practice really. It's all about getting a feel for when the minion is "just right" to kill. Just keep playing games with those champs and you'll get it down eventually.

Alternatively, in the beginning when you're having a tough time gauging when to last hit, you can see how much your auto attacks do to the minions and click on the minion to view it's health and then time your auto to kill it, but I wouldn't recommend doing that in an actual pvp game.

Being a zed main your last hitting is probably skewed a bit, because of zed's passive. Taking 2 points out of CD reduction in masteries and putting them into the minion related masteries to the right could help some, as well as practicing in a custom game.

You really shouldn't have any issues with Fizz, he is about as simple as Zed after you get a point in his W. With Ahri I have found it a lot easier to just not let it get to tower and to wave clear it- not always ideal, but if you want that gold you gotta take the downside. Also, with Ahri don't rely on her W you cant even kill a 25% minion with it half the time.

LB and Syndra have really nice aa frames. Just get comfy knowing which order the tower hits in and at about what hp the minion will need to be to be able to take one more tower shot+ one more of your autos. It's really plain generic advice, but it works.

If you're looking for a leg up mechanically, take some AD and/or hybrid pen reds. AP reds are bad anyway, the extra AD helps in early trades where you can get a couple autos in, and you don't lose much mpen with hybrid marks compared to pure mpen ones. You can also take a point in Butcher for a slight boost, assuming you're going heavy in the offense tree anyway (and Feast isn't bad either for a little extra sustain).

Beyond that, practice. Take someone with a really slow AA animation (like Karthus or Swain or Cass), go into a custom game with full AD marks, and last-hit for 10 minutes against a beginner bot -- only 1 AA per minion, no abilities! Once you can get at least 90CS in 10m, start reducing the number of AD marks to make it harder.

Zed is basically easy mode when it comes to last hitting (AD assassins are as well, but to a lesser extent). you will never have as easy a time last hitting without abilities as with Zed, and you've probably trained yourself in a way that you are used to that easy mode last hitting. the best way to deal with this is take your mids that you are trying to learn, and go into a bot match by yourself with the goal of getting perfect CS until 15 minutes in. Then, once you're proficient at that, add in 3 bots (you need 3 so that there is always at least one designated to your lane) and again try to get perfect CS until 15 minutes while avoiding letting the bot kill you. Then, add 2 more bots and go to a lane with 2 bots. Between both of them, you are equating laning against a semi-competent player because they will usually harass you a decent amount. Again, try and achieve a very high CS rate in that situation without using spells too often (you can use them, just don't spam them on the wave). After this point, there isn't really any way to help with it other than playing PvP and trying your best.
