What champions can hybrid well?

Dear WoW,

Off the top of my head I can think of a few different types of hybrid champions bot not very many champions themselves. Some champions benefit most from building both AD/AP and/or have powerful skills that give them diversity; we'll call these "true" Hybrids. Another group of champions are good at doing "on hit" damage of the opposite type and we'll call these "hit" hybrids. Finally, you have a grouping that can build many AD and AP items but tend to be weaker if built using both stats and we'll refer to this last grouping as "split" hybrids.

The true hybrids I can think of off the top of my head are Akali, DrMundo, Evelynn, and Jax and would benefit from items like item 3124 and item 3146. Some would classify Kayle as a true hybrid and they wouldn't be wrong but she is typically played as a hit which still benefits all of her skills if following common builds. Akali's Twin Disciplines and Crescent Slash both have AD/AP scaling, DrMundo is best played as a tank and has two magic-damage abilities ( one is a toggle on/off while the other is a %health on hit ) and an absurdly strong AD steroid that can, according to some, be spammed. While I'm not familiar enough with Evelynn I know Jax has naturally swift attack speed making AD useful, two defensive abilities that scale off AD And AP and an on-hit damage boost scaling from AP.

Your hit hybrids are those who tend to hit quickly and benefit from items more specialized items like item 3153, item 3115 and item 3091. Some people consider Warwick, Kayle and Fizz ( I'm sure there are more ) to be decent hit hybrids.

Finally your split will usually build one way but often have skills that convert one damage type to the other or change how the champion is played. Corki does magic damage based on his AD using his Q and R is a good example of the first while Shaco can either build AD or AP depending on if he wants his damage to be bursty or sustained. Other examples of split hybrids are Ezreal, Varus, MissFortune, Udyr and TwistedFate. You'll either build AD or AP often making you choose between one playstyle or another.

I hope this helps you, Mr. Beane.

P.S: I've not given you a full list of hybrids and I'm sure there are more. Please reply to this post if you find any hybrids I've not listed and/or that you've enjoyed playing with. I also want to mention that I've been debating trying a hit TwistedFate in spite of the fact he is usually played as a mage. It looks like the hit playstyle could work on him given one of his skills passively grants him a 10/15/20/25/30% attack speed bonus that looks like it would pair nicely with a item 3115. If you do try hit TwistedFate please let me know how it worked out!
