Questions on Karthus

I started playing karthus lately and I really like him. But, I really suck at him too lol. He isn't as easy as I thought he would be. Can anyone give me some advice on what my main focuses should be? Thanks

He is lategame as heck - farm early as much as you can, use ult to help teammates when they fight elsewhere if you are not around for some assists. Exhaust works well on him.

Yea I noticed how good he is lategame. Even if they focused me in the fights my passive helped me stay in it until they were all dead. I find him really hard against melee mids (Yasuo, Zed, Talon, Irelia) though

yeah those ADs with gapclosers suck to fight...I usually just pussy out and farm from way back with Qs during laning phase - not much they can do to stop that. Lategame comes around and all of a sudden you are not as easy to one shot in a teamfight with a zhonyas and a seraphs embrace active though ;)

You should counter Yasuo mid as Karthus but I understand the others that can 100-0 you like most of the other mages. You have to use your range and slowly ping them with Q. Focus on farm and let them make the mistake of ingaging. Then defile wall combo. Star with tear then build rod of ages and with the buff to item 3116 your picking this second is great.

Next focus on globle map awareness. Know that your ult dose no damage erly game and you have to be sure that you will get a kill or an assist from it.

summoner 13 is a good spell helps you early and late game.

cooldown is point less on Karthus your E,Q, and R do not benefit from this in any relevant manor and the wall is used so conservatively that the cooldown is point less on him ever sense they increased it.
