Hear me out on this one

Spellvamp + Smite

Champions with built in spellvamp - LeeSin, Akali, Morgana, Ryze Works on any champion besides these 4 who build spellvamp in their kits

Why is smite + spell vamp so good Ifrit?

Well that's fairly simple with some simple math using level 18 stats as an easy reference

Summoner heal is up every 210 seconds and heals for 345 HP

Smite deals 1000 TRUE damage and is up every 40 seconds

With only 10% spellvamp ( you will more often have more than this ), at 200 seconds you can technically smite a minion or jungle mob 5 times in the amount of time you can use 1 summoner heal.

The difference in your total sustained heal over that timeframe is Summoner heal - 345 HP Smite - 500 HP ( you get 100 hp at 10% spellvamp every time you smite )

As you can see just from the math, you get more overall heals from smite with spellvamp

Other useful tricks with smite -

  • Fast leash for jungler ( start his buff with a smite to get him/her through their clear times faster ), if you are playing mid, you can also dip out of lane for 6 seconds, run down or up, and start your junglers next buff fight with a nice smite leash again, with its range and high damage, you wont lose any XP really, and your jungler will appreciate you that much more

  • It can be used while CC'ed which makes it perfect for those "OMG" moments, and unlike heal which has a long cooldown, you don't have to worry about burning smite every time you want it or need it since the cooldown is so short

  • Smite minions that your enemy like a jax or leesin is trying to jump to

  • Steal enemy buffs ( you sneaky little devil! ward an enemys red / blue, then when they aren't expecting it, go over and smite their buff to steal it!, it wont always work, but when it does, its so sweet )

Just remember, junglers aren't the only people who can make effective use of smite

There is no I in team! but there is an I in smite :-)

hope you enjoyed this little trick

While junglers are not the only players who can effectivlely use smite, they are the ones who will not be destroyed without an offensive/defensive summoner in lane.

you guys focus too much on getting kills when the real money is in farming

Every wave of minions has more gold in it than 1 kill

Sustaining in a lane, and capturing 100% of the CS is far superior then needing to kill enemys.

Pushing an enemy out of lane while sustaining and farming to max potential is arguably better than racking up kills for gold generating and denying EXP to enemys.

think outside the box and don't be like the majority of players who think killshots are all that matters, they don't, farm is far better.

with that said, ive used this numerous times and its always been a nice little tool to add to the kit

I remember a guy swearing that the only way to play Akali in lane was to go with Smite and stack spellvamp so you could heal a ton off of a minion in the middle of a fight, and that any other way to play her was inferior.

I main support so kills are a whole lot sweeter to me than farm. If a support seems a little kill hungry, please understand why.

Eh, Im very skeptical of this trick for two reasons.

First: Your calculations are based on level 18 stats. In early levels, smite doesn't have that much damage, nor would anyone have that much spell vamp. In that case, you only have truly one summoner spells, which largely decreases your lane presences and you have barely any kill potential and survival ability. This will resulting in your be bullied in lane, meaning that you will NOT be able to farm or trade blows freely. If the opponent get ahead(which they most likely will), it will be very hard for you to catch up, and the game may very well end before you even hit lvl 16.

Second: Even if you manage to do decent in lanes and progress to level 18 and into late game. Most team fight in late game happens around objectives. What if there isn't a minion/jungle creep for you to smite?

To be very honest, I don't think this smite/spell vamp thing works at all.

It doesn't really matter how Vamp Smite compares to summoner Heal in terms of healing per minute, because people don't take Heal for its healing per minute.

This comparison argument is like saying you should take Ghost over Flash because Ghost provides more sustained movespeed.

Never noticed this b4, but even though it's cool in theory, in practice losing a slot for a defensive/offensive spell is just to much of a hit.

yes i have often thought of this but have not tried it now i shall

Would most definitely work on Morgana and Akali

Next time I go Morg mid, I'll try it out.

Heal also heals an ally, gives a speed boost to both of you, and doesn't require any spellvamp, so it is still more effective.

Like what Worgslarg said, no ignite or flash and you will probably blow up without getting kills. Maybe on Ryze, but that's really it tbh.
