Is Zed worth buying right now?

I bought some RP recently, and I was thinking about getting Zed. I'm not really sure what to do, because I'm getting a lot of mixed opinions on him from others. I like to play an assassin type champion who can quickly secure a kill, then escape into the brush, so that's why I first thought of buying Zed. So should I get him or not? Also, I heard that he is getting a nerf in a future update, something about changing his E. Will that affect overall how good he is?

All feedback is appreciated.

lol the nerf is minuscule and won't effect his viability in the slightest. (it just puts a 1 second delay on being able to switch with your ult shadow making it a 5 second window to switch rather than 6)

let me tell you a secret as a zed main there are 2 reasons why you are getting mixed opinions 1 honestly this meta isn't that good for him and 2 people don't want you to be good at zed because good zeds are hard to deal with.

I have zed and i don't even use him because: he lacks AOE/CC a critical part of late game teamfights he is not AP so easy to end up with the all AD team very high skill floor to use effectively without getting facerolled by people like me his ult is countered by all AP's with zhonyas and quicksilver sash if he ever does get fed

Asking for other people's opinions about whether or not a champion is "good" or "worth playing" is a pretty terrible idea. For starters opinions are subjective and differ from person to person, so you'll almost always wind up with a 50/50 split and end up exactly where you started.

Instead, ask yourself this question; do YOU want to learn how to play Zed? If you do, buy him, practice him, and decide for yourself. That's the only way you will ever know the right answer to your question.

On the subject of his "nerf" it's really not the big of a deal, having to wait 1 second before snapping back to his shadow just means Zed has to think a little more about how, when, and where he picks his fights, and has absolutely 0 effect on his ability to make someone go splat if he plays it right.

Zed is extremely good pick in any team composition due the fact that he can pop any high priority target in a instant and come out alive and has a strong laning phase. In my opinion, you can easily get to Diamond with Zed if you know how to play him due to the fact he has strong snowball potential, strong split push and can 1v1 anyone to make picks around the map. The problem with Zed is he has a very high skill cap to use him effectively, in other words he's hard to play (requires lots of mechanics) and I wouldn't say he falls off lane game but he's not that great in lane game team fights in a straight on 5v5. Zed's main goal is to take out the AP carry or Adc but it's hard if they strong peel.

Overall, I would say buy Zed if you're actually committed to maining him because he really needs a large number of games dedication in order to get a strong mastery of him.

Yes. He is 100% worth the buy if you learn to play him. He has a lot of potential and is very fun. His nerf is nothing really. It just stops those no risk dives so the nerf was needed imo. He is a mid AD assassin who has a lot of potential and outplay opportunity. As the great Brazzers Fanboy said Zed at late game is mostly to delete the enemy carry. He does this very well but everything depends on you.

I highly advice buying him if you like assassins and learning him. You will enjoy it. I guarantee it!

tho buying champs that you can buy with IP with RP instead is waste of money
