A Friendly Reminder For Low ELO Players

So I was playing ranked 5's with my friends and one of them who is in bronze was complaining that when he jungled Amumu he had the highest average assists per game, and he was having issues understanding how that's a good thing and he was very insistent on rushing a rylais so he could have damage to get kills. Now I understand that at Gold V I am no where near being able to call my knowledge extensive but I can say that it seems this mindset plagues a lot of people in this game. That assists = failure. Which it outright doesn't and that if you get the highest assists on your team you did excellent that match because you were helping your team you were involved in teamwork. Also that rushing damage while you are playing a champion like Amumu is greedy and can be detrimental to your team once team fights start occurring.

So my friendly reminder is: Tanks can carry through their tankiness, you may not get kills but you win team fights through your survivability to continue cc'ing the enemy team and peeling for your carries.

Edit: I'm not saying building any damage is a bad thing I'm just commenting on the rushing of it even if your team is behind. Sorry that wasn't clear

Rylai's is still a good item on Amumu though. It's a permaslow so the enemy team can't escape. It's not going to get him kills -it's going to get whoever he ganks kills.

Rylais+Liandrys. Now that's going to get him kills. If he does that he's bordering on AP Assassin Amumu instead of tank Amumu.

if you build rylais when ahead on gold, why not? it's a great item to snowball as amumu, amumu doesn't have slows to rylais doesn't have negative impact on his build (the new slow mechanics dis encourage building rylais on champions with slows) so it's a good item overall on amumu if he seek stickiness it also goes well with cinderhulk providing hp, the mind set of set builds is also a bad thing you can't have one build sometimes specially in solo Q you need that damage, and building items that help you carry more.
