How/when do you gank?

I find unless the enemy is pushing, I can't gank. Or if they are, by the time I get there that's not the case anymore. Then somewhere else is pusheing but again it takes so long to get around the map. Even worse if you stop to farm. The games that go my way are ones where it just happens to be where I am killing creeps is prime opportunity to gank the closest lane.

I tried just ganking for the hell of it, but it just fails miserably they just run away or my laner doesnt even react and I look retarded.

Also, its sorta hard to gank when your laner has low health or OOM but doesnt go back to base. All this added together and there's just so many times NOT to gank, but when it is time to gank, I'm far away.

Add insult to injury the enemy jungler just walks in and gets free kills. Then the "blame jungler" starts happening and it gets toxic real fast.

How do you manoeuvre the map? Is it really just luck that you're in the right spot and snowball the game?

No its not luck. Just one of my favorite ganking tricks is walk through lane into the bushes if its pushed to there tower then wait for the lane to push back and go on him. A lot easier to do top then bot since bot wards bushes in lane a lot. For counter ganking try to put yourself in the other junglers shoes. Think of as playing quarterback in football ^_^ lol. Read the other jungler know what side of the map he starts on judge where he will gank first. Know all the junglers and the lane champions so you know if you can win 2v2 fights or not. For example if your kha against lee probably not a good idea to try to counter gank him you wanna stay away from him unless you get fed
