Should I Invade?

I'm still quite new to jungling so I don't really know how to make a really good invade. Sometimes, not all the time, when I ask for a leash from my bot lane, they would sometimes want to invade and either the mid goes with them into the enemy jungle. Of course, I'll go in and help them too, but I really don't like invading because I'm afraid of either giving the enemy team first blood, or one of my teammates giving first blood. Whenever I play support, I only help the jungler invade if he or she is confident that they want to invade. Is it okay for me to say no to invading since I'm the jungler? Is it okay not to help my team when they want to invade without me?

I think 5 man invades are low risk/high reward.

Less than that you better know what you're doing.

Should you invade? That is a good question. To answer that, you have to have played the game long enough to know what certain champions will be very very weak at level 1 and others will be very strong. So, if you believe your team has a better level 1, invade by all means!

Having your top laner with you is always nice, but at the very least make sure they ward the buff near their lane so that you have less of a chance of being suprised at your buff, or be suprised to find it missing.

wel most of the time no

download baron replays and start working on your clear

ive often had games where i played a jungler wich was blue depended in wich case its sort of smart to steal it

i get invaded ennemy jungler stays to long and wastes to much time in my jungle falls behind in farm because of it lol i can simply go to his blue and take that instead (not a big fan cause usualy dont get leash and dont like starting blue buff on most my junglers)

dont go out on to much invading until your comfertable about it

for example if im playing shaco i probertly checked where u started and im most liikely going to invade you cause i knoow that you be low on health on x camp soon if im playing a jungler like nid reksai or sej wich i know i can easily invade and get away with i invade

and if your ahead on the enemy jungler and he cant duel you or you know hes on low hp cause you just seen him walk low hp towards his blue buff

im really not that big a fan of those early invades unles id have a team who knows what their doing ( or you have blitz) one moment where it might be verry good do is if your up against a blue heavy jungler like amumu since he will be starting there and you can mess up his clear allot

The invading versus not invading thing is a normally hard topic to decide. As the jungle it is right now on SoloQ is almost never worth it, simply because the risk coming with it (assuming you are not using any form of communication like skype) simply because it is so unorganized. And evern if you are with friends and the risk is lower the reward for doing it is quite small and is only really appreciable on early game champions.

As a general rule of thumb if you are a late game jungler invading is not worthy, simply because your clears are slow and you can be caught on a counterjungle before you hit 6. When is a game between two early game junglers, then is the most rewarding case as now you can gank more freely (since your opponent has to farm a tad longer to caught up on levels) and youc an also set up some nasty jungle control if you are a control jungle (steal all his camp, ward his jungle, take dragons). If you are against a tank jungler is also rewarding because it makes him more vulnarable on future invades to his jungle.

Personaly I like the short risk mini invades, for example if I have a thresh or a blitz on my team they can just pull over wall a force a few early flash, just make sure your team doesn't burn their summoners overcomiting. Also if you are a really fast clearer against a slow one you can pull a late invade and steal on of his buffs. If you are a goood duelist you can go for a late gank at his second buff.

Say you don't want to invade, you are the player who is crucial to the invade...

If you aren't feeling like it's going to be a good raid don't do it.

  1. its okay for you to do whatever you want always

  2. think about the outcome of your decision. you are afraight to give firstblood, that fear is absolutely justified. now, if you dont go with your team, does your team not invade or do they actually invade as 4? if they invade as 4, is the chance of success higher without you and is the chance of them giving firstblood higher?

now what can you do to increase your winrate/the successrate of your team? should you stay afk in your jungle or should you back them up? can you back them up in a way that doesnt risk your life? with some ranged damage or cc or vision?

  1. also, what time is it? when do you need to be where to not miss out on jungling-time for yourself? what help do YOU possiblyx need from your team to get YOURSELF strong? use pings, use simple phrases like "please pull" and be prepared that your team doesnt give a shit about you because they think junglers are some sort of bitches for "real" laners.

just keep thinking about what increases the success rate of your game.

another example: you are splitpushing and you now have the choice to either group with your team or keep splitpushing. you know in an LCS game where you can trust on your team not being retards, splitpushing would be much much better and could potentially snowball the game for you. now you also know you are not in an LCS game but in a bronze soloQ game and chances are, your teammates dont even know that you are splitpushing and even if they knew, they have no idea what to make of it.

analyze the situation, teamcomps, your teams movement, enemy teams movement and decide: is it more valuable for my winrate if i keep splitpushing or should i group? there is no generalization to this, just make a new decision to every new situation. this will make you become a better player.
