What has this game become?

I know Riot's trying their best to make this community a great one, and I honestly hope that it'll work very soon. I'm not a veteran but I'm not a newbie either. I started in April of 2015 when I was introduced to League by a former friend. My journey from level one to somewhere level twenty-five was somewhat okay; however, I started noticing how toxicity was becoming eminent as I progressed. Everyone took the game seriously, (which I can understand, we all want to win) but at what cost?

Your support is doing badly? You flame them until they "get better." Your top laner is having trouble against their lane opponent? Tell them to suck a dick for the rest of the game. Your jungle can't gank since they are having a hard time when the enemy jungler is counter jungling? Say GGAFK and go on a different account to play.

Honestly, does no one see what has been going on? I don't mean to be offensive, but I think the community is just getting worse and worse every day. I know there's positive people out there (WHERE ARE YOU GUYS HIT ME UP I WANNA PLAY A SHORT AND SWEET GAME) and there's plenty of you, but the majority of the player base is so toxic. I literally can't play a game without someone flaming for the entire duration. It's honestly ridiculous, everyone knows it, but why do we still do it? Why can't we see what we've done and tell ourselves, "Oh shit, I'm really messed up." What's so fun about playing a game you're stressing about. I know this game is extremely competitive in comparison to others, but look how damaging it has become? Everyone's hurting others which then leads to hurting the game itself. I know this is a wonderful game. I love it. But I can't say I love it anymore when someone decides it was a good time to tell someone to kill themselves.

For all those people, the salt fests, please understand that there are still people who wish to enjoy the game and have no room for you to make it horrible as it is. Just please stop, is that too hard to ask? If Riot's having a hard time reprimanding every player so why can't the community pitch in a hand? Where's the tribunal? What happened to all those people who used to stand up for others. Lastly,

What happened to those who truly enjoy the game?

I truly enjoy the game, thats why i dont play pvp anymore, thats why i posted about improving the honor system, since untill positive behavior is actually rewarded this game wont start improving, since even as you said , everyone can just hop accounts to avoid punishment. If you want to actually have fun play bots. The community is a bit less toxic there.

Thank you for saying what the calm, rational people of the game are always thinking. +1 for you, and if you ever want to play a game hit me up.

The problem is anyone can just go make another account. Therefore, unless they buy a lot of skins, they have no skin in the game. So getting banned is essentially free. They'll just make a new account and continue the behavior. And people will make smurf accounts for the purpose of trolling and being toxic.

honestly I've seen people being really mean to other people, whenever i'm that person I just don't respond to them as that's just giving them more reason to lash out at you, I just accept the fact that "hey sometimes the community is going to be a pain just report them for their attitude and move on" I play the game cause I have fun with it, not because I consider myself a "good player" (which seriously what makes a good player these days) I just decide to take it like a man and move on. But hey if you ever want to play with me i'll gladly accept it. [slayer-jinx-wink]

2015 is considered a newbie for this game. Also the community has been trash since beta...you just weren't around to know it.

riot removed the tribunal, because it required human review. they replaced it with a bot, that only cares about buzzwords and certain phrases, not the people relentlessly taunting you or the guy with multiple zeals running down mid

It used to be much better years ago, and I've also seen it erode as riot shoved it more in the spotlight of esports; last season I remember consistently having good clean fun would probably be season 3, seeing harassment escalate through season 5 and accelerating in 6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxAabW7JfTQ
