Tips for playing Lucian?

I find myself coming to this little part of the site more often than I'd like, but whatever, all part of getting better.

I bought Lucian about a week ago. And in the following week, I came to an unfortunate realization: I suck at Lucian. I don't really feed, but I die far more than I'd like. Between my lack of expertise in adc, team mates who were far from pro level, but still wanna go on about how I sucked when they weren't much better, I was about ready to just stick to the roles I know.

But, as I have done in the past, I decided to at least ask for help before giving up completely. The main things I'm struggling with are getting my abilities off onto targets, knowing when to use my E (which is a problem when you're up against supports like Bliztcrank, Morgana and Lux, who can set up an easy kill with a well placed snare/grab), and just dealing damage in general (I find my damage out put a bit... underwhelming. Course, I'm probably just doing something wrong, so...)

So yeah, help a guy out? I really like this champ, and I wanna get better at him. Any advice?
