I'm nearly Diamond. Now, what?

Blue Collar Bear··1 votes·524 views

I originally made a post questioning how to improve past points that others see as a milestone. I received a lot of good feedback about how to improve, and I hope to get some more.

I'm nearly Diamond, and I got here mostly by playing my own weird picks and using my own ideas on how I think I could win the game. I supplemented this with listening to others' ideas and comparing them to my own. Now that I'm hitting another wall, I have more ideas for improvement. I think I should join a community and write guides to get appropriate criticism on my ideas and listen to others, since a majority of my exposure to League is through the boards. What communities are out there?

You aren't diamond yet. The plat 1 100 LP barrier is real. I hit it and rebounded back to plat 5. I must say, diamonds are more skillful in every category including trolling. First time I saw disco nunu.

I'll have to say I disagree. I've not had issues climbing whatsoever, not since Silver. For the record, I got bogged down in Silver III and Gold II. Collectively in my series to Silver II and Gold I, I've been in those series more than I've actually been IN series (30+ times, if memory serves). I've not been in a series more than twice without a win, since then. I always immediately get back into my series, too.

Hey I just hit diamond myself. AMA league related and maybe I can answer what I did for that particular area to improve. :)

The name makes me laugh.

Sure! How do you win games? It's as simple as that. What do you proactively choose to do to win games?

Lol My name is awesome summoner 31

So for me I can play any role comfortably and 4 of the 5 main roles confidently. (Adc is my weakest role but it isnt overall weak)

For me I always have a gameplan before the game starts depending on champ select. Sometimes coming out of champ select you have a early power spike and if it is not taken advantage of the game will stall out and you will be at a disadvantage on the opposite side you my have weak early game in which the opposite can be said in which you should stall and scale and attempt to stay even with the opposing team.

Things such as mechanics IMO are really not that important until you want to climb higher in Diamond. Honestly from Gold V to DIamond V there isnt much of a difference in mechanic skill level. The difference between the player is game sense/knowledge and decision making based on information we can gather in game. Knowing when to push, stall, farm, teamfight, get Dragon, Baron etc (Warding OP)

So overall improving game sense learning to roam as mid and sup and mastering tp windows as a top lane is a huge part in climbing the ladder. Early leads can allow you to continue to create opportunities to get ahead. Map control is huge. Let me know if this at all make sense or if Ewoks are lame (they are cool btw)

It makes sense. I adhere to this advice already, sadly.
