What to do with Cho Gath Mid?

Seriously, In ranked at high gold - low plat, Cho is either banned or picked EVERY GAME. Now, in my opinion, a champion with a 2.5 second AOE silence that can build nearly full tank and still kill the adc just by pressing the R button is OP. How Riot disagrees with me there is beyond me.

I just played a game as Ashe where I had 1417 max health, Cho flashes over the wall and presses R. He did 1226 TRUE damage to me and killed me. Now let's do some math: 1226/1417 = 0.865. Meaning Cho did 87% of my MAX HEALTH in TRUE DAMAGE.

Now as this is a tips and tricks thread, if ChoGath really isn't OP at all as the people playing him claim him to be, can anyone here tell me what I can do as the ADC/Mid laner mage/Mage support to survive???

I mean, seriously, I don't understand how an 80 second cd ult (without cdr mind you) does THAT much true damage to champions? How is that not broken, Riot, seriously. Even Darius's ult is more balanced than this because Darius ult only does that much true damage when he hits you at least 5 times prior. He can't instantly kill you with one button.

If anyone can give me a good way to do anything against this please tell me. And no, building warmogs on the adc or assassin mage is not a solution.

My main issue with this is the true damage, if it was magic or physical it wouldn't be so broken.

Ok correct me if im wrong here.

Feast is True Damage: 300 / 475 / 650 (+ 70% AP)

So a level 3 feast that does 1226 true damage means the cho had (1226 - 650) * 0.7 = 822 AP ?

So he had 822 AP and you had 1417 health? If the other persons attack damage or AP is 60% of your health it isnt really suprising they kill you fast. Any mage with that kind of AP can kill you from range.

First and foremost, take something not utterly spell reliant against him. For mid lane, Diana would be my first idea, but Galio can work out as well. Don't play low range squishy, and especially not poke mage. Snowballing champs (ie Talon, riven) can work if you manage to get ahead) As ADC, item 3102 is your friend. It can stop either the silence or the Q that you managed to stay in, and stops the flash+ult shenenigans as well.

Cho has:

Excellent AoE CC True damage ult with a shorter CD Nice scalings Sustain Stacks that make him hard to kill

Cho pays for those by being:

Melee Having no mobility whatsoever Gated by huge mana costs Relieved of half his stacks on death

I'd say he pays for all his advantages quite nicely. Having no mobility and being a melee champion forces Riot to load his kit down since that frees up quite a bit of power for his budget. Once you add in those large mana costs (made even worse with the mana regen nerfs a bit ago), Cho needs abilities that hit like a bus and disable opponents just to stay somewhere close to viable with all the mobility and resource independent champions running rampant.

As for how to lane against him, you could play a champion that doesn't use mana so he's forced to budget his abilities. You could play a champ with a lot of mobility to dodge his laughably telegraphed Q and delayed W. You could tell your jungler to gank often since his E tends to push lanes and people end up leaving it on most of the time to help CS. You could out roam him with his zero mobility and not have to worry much about your lane since his tower damage is low. You could play a champion that doesn't lose a lot of their power by being silenced.

When it comes time to teamfight and you're a squishy champion or a mage that loses everything by being silenced, you need to be aware of his location and if he has his Q or not. As long as you stay away from him and dodge the Q, he literally can't do anything but give you mean looks. And if he's building primarily AP, he's not going to be tanky enough to walk through your frontline to get you unless he's fed as hell. If another enemy champion dives in and CCs you first so Cho can land his Q and walk right up to you and delete you, then that's the enemy team having a complementary team composition that helps cover for Cho's weaknesses. Teamwork OP.

WHAT?

Darius gets a perma reset if he kills you. He can ult 5 people with that true damage not to mention his ult has better range. What are you smoking?

Remember when cho was considered bad? Play whatever made him bad.

Srsly dunno whats wrong with ppl. Beating full ap cho is piz of cake. Not saying he isnt strong or something but he if he builds ap he is a sitting duck of abysmal fortress-like thingy with huge damage. Similar to jinx. Engage on him and kill him over and over again. He gets fed? Np get banshe so he is forced to use one of his 3 main dmg/cc tool to get thoose off from you (and his spells also have a HUGE cooldown). You can also pick champs like Ahri TwistedFate Lissandra who is just simply superior in terms of mobility and can make all your lanes snowball while cho is afk-ing middle lane to get his stacks.
