So we never really heard anything about her mother. Who was she? What was her name? Why isn't she present in her family? Did she die in childbirth after Cassiopeia? Did she get killed during some assassination mission?
Why aren't there answers to these questions?!?! RIOT YOURE KILLING ME ;-;

Katarina and cassiopeia might not be good people,but that doesn't mean that they have no sense of morality at all or that they'd kill their own mother.
Wrathof3001 votesI dunno the idea just sprang into my mind. looks like a dagger throwing addict so a plausible reason might have been that she was told by her father to assassinated her mother. could have killed her mother out of jealousy, she doesn't look very good at combat, looks more like a manipulator than a fighter.
This is Noxus after all, where 
was praised for murdering her husband because he was a decent person which unfortunately made him a bad politician. I personally believe that their mother will be dead, so why not make and interesting back-story out of it??

Noxus might be morally dark,but that doesn't mean they are evil for the sake of evil.
And Elise killed her husband in self defense,he poisoned her and tried to blackmail her with the antidote,so she killed him and to get the antidote.

I mean we don't know anything about the parents of ~90% of the champions,so it is actually more surprsing that we know anything about Katarinas dad at all.
Ralanr1 votesThat's probably the more likely case. They are some form of nobility after all so one parent is probably really focused on the politics of their family. In Demacia that's would fall to the patriarch, but considering how Noxus works, their mother could have been the matriarchal head while the father (who may have just been bad at court in general) did the dirty work.
Poro Princess1 votesI get that not every aspect of the story will be explained in depth but a little back story would add so much life to the existing lore. We already know a lot about her dad, at least giving us her mother's name would be nice. Right now it just feels like she has disgraced the family or something because no one dares speak of her....

Demacia has the traditional "women stay at home" culture; but given that Noxus is all about strength and that lets someone like Katarina become an assassin, I'm curious to know what her mother did for a living.
