Build Paths

I'm looking for some advice on build order. Should I be rushing a legendary or a few mid tier items? I've been learning Azir, currently trash but whatever, and have had some success going boots 1, fiendish, mana regen, and stinger vs the Morrellonomicon rush. Thoughts?
