Help me jungle: Omega Squad Teemo

Yes, hate my guts, downvote me, whatever.

But in all seriousness, I really liked the Omega Squad Teemo skin and the promo they did around it. Most of Teemo's other skins were more on the cutesy side (easter bunny, astronaut) so the tone of the skin was much more interesting to me. However, I also felt a calling. As I played with the skin just for fun, I kept feeling this pull towards the Jungle.

Teemo A part of you never leaves the jungle.. Teemo Take a long walk through the jungle! Teemo Become one with the jungle... Teemo Now, we wait. Teemo I'm everywhere

So I decided that I want to make my Teemo exclusive to the Jungle. So far I have about 50/50 success rate with him. I was hoping for any tips if anyone has experience with him.

Runes and Masteries Right now I'm running basic AP/AS set up in my runes and masteries with an offensive mastery page. I know that MS quints don't get a lot of love but I've always been partial to them, thought they might improve his Scoutiness.

That Level 1 Gank So I've been running summoner 11 summoner 12 and going for the level 1 cheese. For those unfamiliar, you teleport to a tower immediately, run to their buff and wait in the brush. Most junglers end up using their first smite on Gromp/Krugs and so they go to take red/blue and don't have smite. This makes it extremely easy to Smite steal the buff and then they are usually low on health, and makes for an easy kill. So far every time I've managed to set it up, I've gotten FB. However:

  1. With the MS speed boost its harder to get into position before they arrive due to the delay for casting TP.
  2. Since they don't start at their buff, you have to wait for them to clear the first camp. This delays your gank, so I don't know that it is still a very advantageous maneuver. Plus, I've been wrong a few times (I set up at blue, they went to red or vice versa) which just means I end up behind. I usually just steal their buff but that forces me to Recall and then I'm behind on gold.

Is it still worth, or should I try something different? I could try setting up at their first camp, stealthing near gromp or krugs - since Junglers usually start off with their smite (to get the stun or DoT) I can probably still steal it. However they'll be healthier so that might not work out very well.

And if anyone has done this, do you usually go Q or E?

Builds I've tried both Devourer (running on-hit with BotRK, Nashors, etc) and Runeglaive. Any thoughts on one over the other?

Counter jungle, farm, or gank? I feel like Teemo could potentially be a strong counter-jungler. He can stealth to set up ambushes, and once he hits 6 can just litter the jungle with shrooms - but not sure how viable of a strat this might be.

Any thoughts?

problem with teemo jungle is that he doesnt clear very well no matter how long the game goes. this means, if you cant gank successfully in the first 5 minutes (which can be hard without burst or cc or gapclosers or ANYTHING) any fast jungler will outlevel you hardcore.

for example, if i play shyvana i will reach level 6 when you are lvl 4 or maybe just got lvl 5. now i will be in your jungle and as long as your lanes didnt allready stomp my lanes, you will not be able to reach that level 6. i will be level 8 and you will be 5 still. if i do that for just one or two respawn-rotations and my lanes dont feed, you are so behind that you cant gank or clear anymore because camps get stronger with every respawn and you will get punished even by wolves.

also, dont forget if i see you on one of the multiple wards i placed in your jungle, you will eventually facecheck me and die. this doesnt make your life better.

any jungler who cant clear at a decent speed is not viable, there you go.

i think with devour so strong you should build him with devour and botrk even a ap as teemo does well with botrk then your ganna want some survive-ability so id buy a item 3116 item 3151 then get boots based on what your looking to do if u wanna go chase people and make sure they cant run either get item 3117 or item 3009 if u want more power getitem 3020 and these boots also work well with the magic damange on devour as a last item i would go item 3026 or if your feeling balisy and wanna dish out more damange and be more annoying got item 3172

Only go for that lvl 1 invade if you know where they will start. Say its a yi or rengar, they will start red most often because the krug smite buff. In situations like this they still wont be low enough to kill most likely tho. Id use blinding dart to limite there damage to you, and it works as an AA reset so you get a higher total damage. This may really only work on those with a terrible fist clear tho. Ka, evelynn, and the like.

is item 3151 still worth on teemo? his E doesn't proc spell effects. it's really just useful for his mushrooms but they got nerfed.

this build is completely made up but what do you think about it?

item 3020 item 3724 item 3115 item 3135 item 3285 item 3089

runes: 15% attack-speed + 10% cdr + 3% movement speed + hp/lvl

masteries: 21/4/5

attack-speed and ap offensive, jungle tank and slow reduction defensive, and movement-speed ,recall and potions from utility.

you'll get 40% cdr and 14.5% movement speed
